Jim Thomas (Mermen) Solo CD "Blues of Elsewhere"

Greetings friends of Mermen. "BLUES OF ELSEWHERE" is a new CD featuring a collection of the slower, ballad-like MERMEN tunes in a dreamy/sleepy mode. Each song is performed as a guitar duet (electric and acoustic guitar ). The idea for this recording was to offer a softer, ambient-like, intimate listening experience.

The CD will arrive from the factory DEC 15th - your orders will arrive before Christmas.

You can preview you the CD here. Buy it now here.

The Farfisas - Surf Far, Surf Good: Now Available iTunes & CDBaby

The Farfisas - Surf Far, Surf GoodThe Farfisas Are:
Frankie Farfisa: Guitar, yells
Freddie Farfisa: Bass
Philip Farfisa: Farfisa
"Big" Fredo "Daddy" Farfisa: Drums

The Farfisas formed in early 2011 on Long Island, NY by Frankie who was at that time performing with a rockabilly band named 'Hey Hey, Why Why?' and living out of a Winibago. He ran in to Freddie who worked at a local bait and tackle shop. The two hit it off and decided to form their own band.

After seeing Fredo and Philip performing as the duo 'Rude Dude', Frankie coaxed them to join what would eventually become the Farfisas. Everyone took the surname 'Farfisas' as a tip of the hat to The Ramones.

Their debut CD 'Surf, Far - Surf Good' is available on iTunes, CDBaby and other popular non brick and mortar locations.

Under the Covers With The Tremolo Beer Gut

UNDER THE COVERS WITH... THE TREMOLO BEER GUT

Album out 10th October. Concerts this autumn

“They are here to put the URF! back in surf! They love tremolo, they love beer and they've got guts!”

Denmark’s - no, let’s just say it as it is - the world’s leading surf-orchestra is back with a new, old, album.
The Tremolo Beer Gut is known for doing everything in the old-fashioned way, but compared to most other
bands within the genre, they have always insisted on stepping out of the very schematic and rigid conventions
for surf-music. From the very beginning, it has been film-music and surf-elements, which are reflected
in the more contemporary music that has been the inspiration for the band. When The Tremolo Beer Gut
started on the music scene in 1999, it reverberated around the world’s surf forums: A new band was in the
midst of reinventing the genre backwards. A lot of reviewers on fanzines noted that: The sound is 100%
authentic old school, but the Tremolo Beer Gut writes fundamental original music, which takes the fast
track of the often reactionary songwriting that characterizes the genre.
