Satan's Pilgrims - Taco Truck / Neahkahnie 7" (Double Crown)

Satan’s Pilgrims bring you the latest in stereophonic entertainment with their timeless and engaging surf instrumentals “Taco Truck” and “Neahkahnie.” On the A-side, “Taco Truck” transports the listener to a magical place where delicious melodies reverberate from Venice Beach to Cape Cod. Some fear one day there will be a taco truck on every corner, Satan’s Pilgrims welcome that day! The B-Side is a caravan of pleasure with the deliberate and mellow song, “Neahkahnie”—bringing to mind the mysterious siren call of the mountain from which it was named. One part Jorgen Ingmann, one part triple-sec, one part fun!

This record is a co-release between Double Crown Records and Hidden Volume Records, who have wowed the world with their awesome garage, garage punk and (occasional) rock n’ roll instro releases, all packed in exquisite, deluxe sleeves. Recorded and mixed by Satan’s Pilgrims at the Mt. Hood Masonic Lodge, Portland, Ore., mastered by Gus Elg at Sky Onion. This is available in limited edition green vinyl and black vinyl - get your copy today as this will sell out quickly!

We will also include a limited edition, promotional postcard with every order while supplies last!

Satan's Pilgrims kickstarter!!!!!

Satan's Pilgrims Italian Tour & New CD Release Kickstarter Campaign

With your help we are hoping to return to Italy to play for the first time since the 90s. Airfare is extremely expensive for five of us, and since we don't all live in the same state anymore or play regularly together, we need your help to make this dream of ours a reality while making it possible to see our overseas fans, friends and family and to release unreleased and obscure material.

When you back the project at a $30 level, you'll get a 26 song cd months before it is officially released. That's about $1.15 a song-not very much more than the average song download price! You'll get our very first basement recordings that were only released on a cassette in Portland. You'll get never before heard songs like "Mr. Beatle" and "One Potato, Two Potato" and others. You'll get to hear rare numbers like "Nowheresville" that only appeared on a local cassette compilation with Eliot Smith and the NW rocker, "House Party", plus lots if other non-album tracks from the 90s and a couple of live ones from the SG101 Convention in 2011. We've been working really hard to make this a cool collection that would be a nice reward for backing our project, along with the other new items we have as rewards. We want you to be a part of it and be the first kids on the block to have the new release by Satan's Pilgrims, "Frankenstomp". Thank you!

Announcing the SurfGuitar101 Convention 2011!

Flyer by JonPaul Balak
It’s hard to believe, but the fourth SurfGuitar101.com convention is now upon us! Mark your calendars now, Saturday, August 13th 2011 is a date you will not want to miss! Join us for a celebration of live surf music in the heart of Southern California!
We are absolutely pleased to announce the headlining act will be none other than Satan’s Pilgrims! We are also excited to continue the tradition started last year by hosting bands from outside the United States. This year, visiting from foreign shores we will have The Razorblades (Germany), The Bradipos IV (Italy), and The Blue Demons (Canada)!

As before, we will host a special “Legends of Surf” jam, where members of original 1960’s surf bands will play the classics in the genre. You won’t want to miss this! Past years have featured members of The Belairs, Eddie & The Showmen, The Chantays, The Lively Ones, and The Crossfires. This year we are going to feature the music of The Belairs, Davie “King Fuzz” Allan, and a tribute to Eddie Bertrand!

Do you play an instrument? Why not sign up for the SG101 member jam? Site members get up and play surf classics old and new, sometimes standing side by side with musician’s from the original bands!

We’ll also have a large vendor space featuring CD’s, vinyl, t-shirts, DVD’s and more!

All of this is happening Saturday, August 13th, 2011 at The Starting Gate, 5052 Katella Avenue, in Los Alamitos, California, 9am to 8pm. Tickets will be $25 at the door. Kids 16 & under are free!

Here is the complete band lineup for the convention:
  • Satan’s Pilgrims - One of the most popular and influential modern surf bands, these caped musicians hail from the Pacific Northwest, home of the Ventures, The Sonics, and The Wailers.
  • The Razorblades - All the way from Germany, you’ll dig their fast and loud take on surf music.
  • The Bradipos IV - From Italy, you’ll love their traditional surf and spaghetti western sounds.
  • The Cocktail Preachers - This Chicago band indeed preaches to the faithful the sounds of surf, exotica, and Mai-Tais.
  • Daikaiju - This Kabuki masked band hails from Alabama, and plays a high explosive, rocket-fueled progressive form of surf music. One of the most talked about live acts on the scene.
  • Meshugga Beach Party - Who knew? Traditional surf music combined with Jewish folk songs! You have to see to believe these chosen surfers from Northern California.
  • The Deadbeats - One of the hottest and youngest surf bands today, these kids like to play old school surf music loud and fast!
  • The Blue Demons - From Toronto, these wrestling super heroes will take you to the mat with their pile-driving take on surf and garage music.
  • The Tequila Worms - Another young band, these guys hail from Anaheim, California, and sound like The Ventures after getting in a car crash with Link Wray!
But wait there is more! That’s right, we have all kinds of shows lined up for you before and after the convention. Book your hotel rooms now for a massive celebration of live surf music. Here is the complete schedule:
