The latest release from Australia’s favourite surf guitarist and member of the legendary Atlantics – Martin Cilia.
Inspired by a 2012 trip to Hawaii and California (the Hawaiians call it “Kaleponi”) and a chance meeting with surf guitar god Dick Dale, “Going To Kaleponi” has Martin and his classic guitar collection in full flight.
You’ll hear the sounds of cool breezes in palm trees, rolling ocean surf, skateboards on Santa Monica boulevard and many more.
Available now on iTunes and through www.martincilia.com. Listen to some of the tracks here: www.martincilia.com.
We're very happy to finally show of Aloha Screwdriver's first real music video for our song "Doom Buggy Hellride".
We shot the whole thing in our hometown of Alameda, CA. I'm sure that a lot of you will recognize the tiki bar, Forbidden Island. Our friend Bryan Wright shot and edited the whole thing, and we're super proud of it.
The song is available now as a single on iTunes But you can also get it for free by sharing on Twitter. Or if that's not your style, we're also giving it away if you sign our mailing list.

The Insanitizers released their 20 song CD "Wild Surf Guitars." The Insanitizers expand the borders of surf guitar into classical guitar, classic rock, modern rock, country, polka, flamenco, and rockabilly. Nineteen of these songs put the guitar front and center; there is no room for a vocalist. This CD tells stories of adventure, mystery and energy with guitar instrumentals in an involving experience. The band has fun performing, and when you listen you will be part of the fun.
This CD also introduces Rodriel & Gabrigo, the Insanitizers Flamenco Surf Rockabilly (Flamencobilly) Acoustic Duo, with three memorable frenetic instrumentals based on surf guitar songs. Come hear the Duo's performance at the CD Release Party, starting 6pm Friday March 22, 2013, at Music Millennium, 3158 E. Burnside St., Portland, Oregon. The performance will be for an hour and there is no cost to attend.
If you follow Double Crown on Facebook you probably already saw this, but we're really stoked to announce the release of "7+ Inches Of Love" by The Apemen. It's a reissue of their popular 2000 release that quickly went out of print. We've added 3 extra live tracks as well as "24 Hours From Tulsa", which featured on the That's New Pussycat compilation CD in Italy (which explains the "+" in the CD title).
The physical CD release will be followed by digital release for the first time. The whole CD has been remastered for the best sound quality possible for these tracks.
Tracks: Bajjad - Crunch - Invasion Of The Apemen - Cruisin' - Intoxica - El Tortura - Percolator Stomp - Pogo a Gogo - Toronado - Surf Dracula (45 version) - Baha-Ree-Ba - When Johnny Comes Wreckin' Home - Shake Your Hoover (alternate) - Squad Car - Het Grote Surffeest (live at KFJC) - Miserlou (live at KFJC) - Queen Jacula (live) - Cor Steijn Rides The Wild (live) - Toronado/Bongo Bongo (live) - 24 Hours From Tulsa

Surfabilly Freakout Radio hit the airwaves in May of 2006 on WPGU 107.1 FM in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. The show features surf, garage, psychobilly, rockabilly, and spaghetti western music performed (mostly) by modern bands. The CD is high-energy from start to finish with a sound reflective of the radio show. The fantastic band line-up includes The Cocktail Preachers, The Madeira, The Coffin Daggers, The Nebulas, 9th Wave, Daikaiju, The Creepy Creeps, Go! Tsunami, The Men from S.P.E.C.T.R.E., the Mutants, The Heavies, Knuckel Drager, The Love Me Nots, The Brains, The Koffin Kats, the Krank Daddies, The Phantom Jets, The Phenomenauts & Vegas 66!

Surfabilly Freakout Radio is definitely about the music, but it was apparent early-on that there would be more... this part that we refer to as "Jackassery, Tom Foolery and Damn Fool Boobery." "Freakout Studios" (WPGU FM) has six microphones and the original DJs (Jet Sterling and Reverend Chuck Allen) were soon joined by a large cast of characters. Today, there is rarely a show when all six aren't in use (and often, there are more DJs than mics). The DJ crew, which grew early-on to include Chelsea Bandita, Koffin Keith, Motorhead Mike and the Director of Awesome expanded into booking and promoting live shows in Champaign-Urbana... often recruiting new DJs out of the crowd. Local gigs led to remote DJ/MC gigs as well as providing organizational assistance at surf, Tiki and hot rod events throughout the Midwest and on the East Coast.
For a raucous selection of surf, garage and 'billy, check out "Throttlebilly Beach Riot!". We hope you dig it!
Microsoft does it, Apple does it, and now the Insanitizers have issued a revised version of their surf guitar CD "Whimsical Surf." Why revise? Because the Insanitizers found how to make their guitars sound both energetically edgy and gorgeous. Here is the first professional review of this new CD:
From “Cry of the Coyote” rock-n-roll CD review magazine published in France. Review received Jan. 4, 2013.
"Conrad Swartz's band decided to revisit the content of their previous album, while I await their next CD. This gives me the chance to appreciate the humor of such titles as "Polkzart" (the 40th symphony of Wolfgang Amadeus as a super fun polka), "Fantwango" (a rocking tango), and "Fowl ball" or "Beerocracy" (puns on "foul ball" and "bureaucracy"). I rediscovered versions of "Sugarplum" ("Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy" by Tchaikovsky) which rocks well and of "Puppetor" ("Funeral March of a Marionette" by Gounod) in flamenco rock style. They added supplementary guitars, changed the solos on some songs, and concocted new arrangements and new melodies on others. I was thrilled by the first version, but the second is even more rockin’ and the guitars gallop. Everything on this album is a keeper, what a great time for fans of rockin' surf!"
"Whimsical Surf Version 2" CD by the Insanitizers is now available at DeepEddy.net and CDBaby.com/cd/insanitizers3.
