Issue #34 will be here on February 17th! The latest issue of The Continental Magazine features a gorgeous full-color cover designed by Scott Sugiuchi (he did the CD art too!). His travel-inspired illustration work fits perfectly with the bands featured in this issue. Australian legends The Atlantics are back with a brand new album, Still Making Waves, so it was the perfect time for Ivan Pongracic to interview guitarist Jim Skiathitis to talk about the writing and recording process. Next we fly to the sunny shores of California, where Ferenc Dobronyi talks to Jim Bacchi of The Tikiyaki Orchestra about their brand new album, Tropika. Mel Bergman is also back with an article discussing the Beach Boys and Ventures role as surf bands. PLUS there's tons of music, zine and DVD reviews. 44 pages in all - another HUGE issue! We bring in 2023 by announcing the first release of the new year - The Doltones' Sound Recycle Machine CD! It's an amazing 13 song CD with 12 original compositions as well as a cover of "Nelostie". If you love the sound of instrumental rock from Finland (also known as the "rautalanka" sound) then you will flip over this disc, with surf, spaghetti western and spi-fi influences throughout. The Doltones are one of the most popular bands on the Double Crown roster, with their debut Dance Or Die nearly sold out, and their sequel Stormrider is close to sold out as well.
