The Orbitrons and The Supertones in Oceanside August 7th

The Orbitrons are hosting the Supertones Thursday, August 7th at Larry's Beach Club in Oceanside, California. The address is 1145 S. Tremont st. (1 block west of Coast Hywy, corner of Oceanside blvd. and Tremont ). Please come help us welcome this great band from NYC to California as a prelude to the convention.


Insanitizers Back by Demand July 12, 2014

After the Insanitizers performance on May 17, the management of the Vancouver (WA) Farmers Market said they had received so many compliments they asked us to return very soon. Our return is July 12, 9:30am - 11:30am, near Esther & 6th Streets, downtown Vancouver. At noon just a few blocks away is a classic car show with live surf guitar music. A little later, also just a few blocks away, is Tikikon  (tikikon.com). Our show is free, the other shows mentioned sell tickets.

Join us for a Benefit for our Fellow Hoot and Surf Drummer Legend, Bob Welch.

Bob suffered a bad stroke and is now partially paralyzed. Give a Hoot and join us June 29th to help raise money for medical bills and other family expenses. Bob’s legendary career with The Chanteys spans from their debut on the Lawrence Welk Show. Bob has continued to jam with the Chantay’s, legendary surf rockers, and our Hootenanny players up until his recent stroke last month. We hope Bob will be able to join us Sunday, but please come on down and join the many fellow rockers and listen to great music from Bob's fellow Chantay’s and others from The Surfaris, The Fabulous Nomads, Eddie Would Tow, Joey and The Monsoons, Z-Bops, Duotones, and many, many more.

This concert is dedicated in memory of Scotty Miller, Surfin’ Sundays Committee Chairman Linda Miller and her husband/HBISM volunteer John. Scotty loved life, HBISM and surf music. R. I. P son you are sorely missed by all who knew and loved you. June 30th marks the 12th Anniversary of his passing to eternal life.

HBISM presents “Century of Stoke” Exhibit Grand Opening in celebration of “100 Years of Surfing” in Huntington Beach. Come visit the newly renovated museum and check out all the new and exciting exhibits that the museum directors have put together for educational purposes and your enjoyment.

SURFIN’ SUNDAYS BAND

The Nocturnes are one of the top show bands of the early 60’s, known for their versatility in playing styles ranging from surf to blues. Currently they play cover songs for such known artists as Dick Dale, Jan & Dean, The Beach Boys, The Eagles, Journey, The Blues Brothers and numerous rock n roll legends. They appeared at all the major showrooms of the 60’s era including the Rendezvous Ballroom, Revelaire Ballroom, Disneyland and numerous dance shows. They are a 5 member group that plays music inspired by the Southern California lifestyle. In 2004 The Nocturnes were named “Best Beach & Surf Band” at The Galaxy Theater during the Orange County Music Awards. They have graced the museum stage during the exhibit grand openings for the past 8 years accommodating such legends as Dick Dale, Dean Torrence & Beach Boys Chris Farmer who’ve appeared with them.

"Mandira", the new album by The Phantom Four, has just been released.

You can listen to the full album on Bandcamp, Spotify and Deezer.

On The Phantom Four's Bandcamp page you can order the download for 10 euro, for 5 euro more you will receive the digipack as well (ships on Monday June 16th). The vinyl is due for release on September 20th.


FENDERONI DIAVOLO Split with Ralf Kilauea & Surfer Joe

For the first time Ralf Kilauea of the German Kilaueas band and Lorenzo Surfer Joe got together to produce some original surf music! We are talking about a 7" split of 4 tracks, pure surf music fun mood with Lorenzo Surfer Joe on drums and guitars, Ralf on guitars and Tom Kilauea as guest on bass.

The digital release on CDBaby.com and other usual channels is on JUNE 15 while the actual little vinyl record will be available hopefully at the Surfer Joe Summer Festival or the end of the month.

The songs titles are surely funny, but the songs have been produced with serious attention and great great sound! Also these songs will only be available with this EP release exclusively, both Ralf and Lorenzo are not planning to include these tracks in any future albums.
