The Reverbivores announce the upcoming release of their debut EP Orbit to Intercept!
Orbit to Intercept is an instrumental surf music expedition through time and space. The seven-track EP takes the listener from the sun-drenched coast of Morocco to the stark beauty of low-Earth orbit. Spaghetti Western gunslingers have it out with Volga boatmen while Cuban revelers party with David Bowie. Throughout the journey, The Reverbivores deliver melodic reverberations true to their name.
Performing throughout Northern California since 2016, The Reverbivores have honed a style of instrumental surf that pays tribute to the early masters of the genre while breaking with many of the genre’s strictures. Complex guitar lines, themes and orchestration blend into a cinematically psychedelic musical melange.
Produced and released by the band, Orbit to Intercept was tracked to 2” tape and mixed over five days at historic The WallySound in Oakland, California.
Orbit to Intercept is available now for pre-order from iTunes and will be available from the leading digital providers June 26, 2018 and on CD July 19, 2018. In addition, a 7” inch two-track collector’s edition vinyl release will be available later this summer. CD and vinyl may be purchased at our shows and from www.thereverbivores.com.
Martin Cilia writes:
When I brought my band to California from Australia last year I had plans to record a film clip of Mrs Moto, from my 2013 album "Going to Kaleponi", hopefully with Paul Johnson. I ran it past him and he agreed.
We decided to film at Huntington Beach. It was the perfect day for it. We got some great footage along and under the pier and also live as part of my set. Afterwards Paul surprised me by asking if we'd like him to edit the clip. We jumped at the chance to have him do it.
Paul went above and beyond - sourcing live audio of us playing the song onstage (thanks Chrome Oxide) and some extra footage from the Purple Orchid (thanks Unsteady Freddie -- would you hire a cameraman called "unsteady"?).
We love the clip. I hope you do too.
This year's mp3 compilation is now completed, and what a collection! Just like in prior years I have placed a copy on archive.org for easier access. You can stream or download the entire collection here:

This year's collection is dedicated to our friend George "Kenposurf" Boccanfuso. We love you George!
Hey it's about time we have another contest isn't it?
Here we have an official bit of Penetrator's loot, an S3 t-shirt, in the XL babydoll size & style. This shirt has shrank a little bit, and is probably equivalent to a ladies small size. It has never been worn and is in like new condition. Did I mention it is small? And cut for the ladies? Good luck!
Click here to enter! Open to SG101 members only.
Hey band members! If you have something you'd like to give away as an SG101 contest, please contact Brian. Thanks!
Crazy Aces are pre-releasing their single "Temple Of Cool" with all proceeds to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank here in Nashville, Tennessee in an effort to help others this holiday season. This offer will be available until January 1st 2014 and we will post pictures or video of the food purchased with your donations before we deliver them after the new year. It's our wish that the money from this pre-release be used to purchase as much food as possible, rather than going towards any administrative costs for the charity.
Please note that Crazy Aces will not be taking ANY of the money for our own administrative or recording costs other than postage of physical CD's, if that is your request. We encourage you to choose email delivery of an mp3 file so that as much of your donation as possible goes to the charity. Please specify in your note if you would like a physical burned CD copy (Continental US only) or mp3 via email. We're keeping this grass roots so please don't expect any fancy artwork on CD's.
Minimum donation is $5.00 and can be paid here. Or email us at crazyaces@comcast.net to arrange other payment methods, cash or check.
Thanks for your help and Happy Holidays!

Midwest Publications has announced the forthcoming new book by Tom Tourville titled, “Sun, Sand, Surf & Sidewalls- Looking Back At Surf & Summer Music As Seen Through Autographs.”
The book, the first of its type, focuses on classic surf music artists from the early 1960's.
It covers over 190 groups/artists with over 430 autographs noted and displayed, all on 100 pages of surfin’ fun. Included are many rare and never before seen autographs, photos, and surf music memorabilia.
This represents the most complete surf music autograph book ever published. This is Tourville’s twenty third published book. It’s a great guide and collectable for surf music fans and autograph collectors.
The introductions for the book were written by Jerry LeMire of the Hondells “Little Honda” and Kevin Mullay, one of the nations top music autograph authorities/collectors.
Leading music journals and newspapers have had this to say about Tourville, “Tourville is a research wizard.” “He is a premier musicologist”, and “Tourville knows his stuff and has a real passion for music research”. Tom is a well respected music columnist, that has been writing for national and Midwest based publications for over 35 years.
His life long love and interest in the surf and hot rod music scene of the early 60's has driven him to create and publish this new book.
The book is available from Midwest Publications at P.O. Box 404, Spirit Lake, Iowa 51360 for $19.50 post paid in the U.S. It can also be found on Amazon.com.
