Meanwhile in Mexico (Thessaloniki, Greece)

https://www.facebook.com/meanwhile.in.mexico

https://meanwhileinmexico.bandcamp.com/

Biography (From Facebook page) - Translated from Greek

" The Meanwhile in Mexico were formed in 2008 by Eugene Trivizas. The first Line up of the band were Stavros Xarhakos, Emmanouil Benakis and Panagiotis Fasoulas. From the very beginning (more specifically just before the first rehearsal) the shape of the surf rock tracks of past decades, with the aim to chase Thylaia, the offspring grawn of that era that probably would have dowry some neo-classical. The obsession of P. F. For semacies, Anazopyrwne constantly the will to hunt korasides. After a Live one, E. B. Influenced by a well-known writer, he decided to take the ships and plunge the band into an ocean of low-frequency search. After several changes in the band, as well as several appearances in the capital, co-capital and province, the preparations for the first record work began, under the supervision of Leviathan Kampakoglou (S.S.: Or Kampakoglou, always signed with Capital letters). Just before the start of the proceedings. "

Aloha Screwdriver (Alameda-California, USA)

https://www.facebook.com/Aloha-Screwdriver-230524580808/

Biography
(From Facebook page)

" Aloha Screwdriver delivers a high-octane mix of surf and twang. The Alameda, CA-based instrumental group formed in 2009 by three friends (possibly from another dimension) who have been playing music together since they were 15 years old.

In 2011, Aloha Screwdriver released their first CD, titled No Way Out. Recored to tape entirely on vintage gear, the 8-song EP has a uniquely saturated, old school sound that sonically sits right alongside '60s recordings of Dick Dale, but calls itself out with its punk-tempo pacing and rock-inspired drumming. The Eliminators

http://theeliminators.com/

https://www.discogs.com/artist/543771-The-Eliminators-3

For nearly 20 years, The Eliminators have remained a critically acclaimed Southern California surf instrumental band. They have helped lead a resurgence of interest in surf instrumental music that was popular during the early 1960s by staying true to the sound while giving the music a modern twist. Internet surf music guru Phil Dirt (www.reverbcentral.com) noted that The Eliminators “…understand the genre like guys who were there in ’62…Incredibly powerful, masterfully-performed genuine surf for the [present day] and beyond!”

The Last video has the late Eddie Bertrand of Eddie and The Showmen fame jamming with The Eliminators.

The Eliminators are hands down the most traditional instrumental surf band out there. They have a very authentic look and sound. Joe and I will text from time to time. In fact, he said if he ever makes it out to Memphis, he will come see my band play! Cool

MooreLoud.com - A tribute to Dick Dale. New Singles "Finish Line" and "Paradiso" on Bandcamp and website.

I've only recently peeked in this thread (didn't realize what was going on for several pages) but you've got what, 788 bands in you list/db and have posted maybe 10% of them so far? I didn't count, just rough'ing 10'ish a page and we are on page 7. Color me impressed! There's already quite a bit I've never heard of or knew existed before and I'd like to think I've mostly been paying attention out here for the last several years.

I applaud your passion and commitment. Keep up the good work, Surfing Sam!

Cheers

Thank you guy's Cool

But all the credit goes to John Blair for steering me in the right direction to https://surfguitar101.com/bandmap/ and Brian for making it. And all the bands that made so many great CD's and music so far- good job guy's and gal's. (I like the costumes as well.)

I found about 28 bands so far on top of the original 785 found on SG101 map linked above and seem to find a new one everyday. So far it looks like there are at least 4,500 CD's worth of old and new surf music out there to acquire as well based on past trends so far. (Wow)

I had no idea either that there is that much new music out there or that many bands in the Instrumental Surf genre as well. Many bands broke up or are inactive, but a majority seem to be still out there surfing.

I thought I knew everything about surf music as well till I joined SG101, but the SG101 Band Map https://surfguitar101.com/bandmap/ totally blew my mind as far as how many bands there are world wide. I had know idea how big it is or how many bands are around my own area as well. Most I never heard of and I follow the local scene near me here all the time. And even here there are about 345 Rock and Pop bands coming through Eastern Shore Maryland, USA (Ocean City) every Summer etc. So about 600 active Surf bands around the world I guess isn't really that big, but still impressive to say the least.

Some bands were very hard to find info on - many only listed the towns they are in or didn't even list that, so I had to figure out where they were based on data in associated links etc....Like some bands you can list here in like 5 minutes and others can take days to find.

Jon & The Nightriders (Inland Empire - California, USA)

https://www.facebook.com/JonandtheNightriders

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_and_the_Nightriders

https://www.discogs.com/artist/520683-Jon-The-Nightriders

https://www.last.fm/music/Jon+&+The+Nightriders

Biography (From FM/music above)

Guitarist John Blair formed Jon and the Nightriders in Riverside, California in 1979 to pursue his love of classic reverb-drenched surf-guitar instrumentals. The quartet also included bassist Niki Syxx, drummer Dusty Watson, and either Odie B. Gianni or David Wronski on guitar. The group opened for Dick Dale in 1980 and soon released their debut, Surf Beat '80, which contained both covers and original material. A live album was recorded at the Whisky A-Go-Go in 1981 with several new songs introduced, and it was followed in 1982 by the Splashback EP, which was produced by Shel Talmy. Jon and the Nightriders disbanded, but reunited again late in the decade for the LP Stampede!!, which was issued by Norton in 1990. In addition to playing surf music, Blair also put together a book entitled The Illustrated Discography of Surf Music (1961-1965).

Flamestones (Gdańsk, Poland)

https://www.facebook.com/flamestones.band/?_rdc=1&_rdr

Biography (From Facebook page)

The Flamestones" is another way to say "Amber" that comes from the Baltic Sea. This is a true beach-goer's stone/jewel and this is the name of our Surf-Rock Band.

Based in Gdańsk, Poland (which is hailed as the World Capital of Amber), The Flamestones are fascinated with the beach parties of the '60s. With original musical equipment from that era, they create a unique atmosphere connected to the rhythm of the ocean waves. In their music, you can hear sounds truly inspired by sports from the USA: Surfing and Drag-Racing.

Surf Zombies (Cedar Rapids-Iowa - USA)

https://www.facebook.com/surfzombiesband

https://www.discogs.com/artist/3699340-The-Surf-Zombies

Biography (From Facebook page)

" The seeds of the Surf Zombies were planted long ago in a basement in Fort Dodge, Iowa, when Brook Hoover discovered a scratchy 45 of the Surfaris’ “Wipe Out.” The sound of surf guitar never left Hoover’s mind, and after decades of friends and fans suggesting it, Surf Zombies were born in 2006 with Hoover and Doug Roberson (Diplomats of Solid Sound, Bent Scepters) on guitar, Jim Viner (Brother Trucker) on drums, and Hoover’s long-time collaborator and childhood friend Joel McDowell (Meerkats) on bass.

Surf Zombies hit the ground running, with an opening spot for surf guitar icon Dick Dale as their first public appearance, and a self-titled album released shortly thereafter. Their second album, “Something Weird,” saw the departure of Roberson and Viner, and welcomed Kyle Oyloe (Meerkats) on guitar and baritone. “Lust For Rust” expanded on the garage rock influence evident on “Something Weird,” and introduced heavy hitter Tyler Russel on drums, who would remain a fixture for many years. When Oyloe and McDowell stepped away from guitar and bass duties, Ian Williams (the Wheelers, the Blendours) and Trevor Treiber (the Blendours) joined the ranks, and filled out the roster that would be heard on their fourth album, “It’s a…THING!”

Surf Zombies have reached a wide range of audiences playing hot-rod shows, breweries, bars, restaurants, theaters, and city festivals across the midwest. Their songs have been featured on TV shows like MTV’s Ridiculousness and A&E’s Bad Ink. Iowa Brewing Company honored the band by producing Surf Zombies IPA, and in 2017 the band received the Spirit Award from the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

In October 2018, the band’s long awaited 5th release, “Return of the Skeleton,” finally saw the light of day and introduced Luke Ferguson (Lipstick Homicide) as the new man on drums. The album features expansive songwriting from Hoover, Treiber, and Williams and shows the band at their finest, stretching the boundaries of the genre while still retaining the classic surf elements that continue to delight listeners across the world.?

Bottle Caps For Dollars….. a.k.a. BC4$ (Anchorage, Alaska)

https://www.facebook.com/BC4Dollars

https://bottlecapsfordollars.bandcamp.com/

https://www.reverbnation.com/bottlecapsfordollars

Biography Biography (From Facebook page)

BC4$ was founded on a love of surf and punk music, gaming, Anime, all things geeky or nerdy (AKA awesome), and the drive to create something that was not seen a lot in the current Alaskan music scene.
Since 2010, BC4$ have seen but a few members come and go, but all have shared the love of what we do, and all have left their positive marks which has led to our current state of mind: Last Frontier Surf With Gusto!!
With often times high-energy songs touching on everything from old video games (like Excitebike or Tetris) to obscure comic book characters (ROM Space Knight, Absorbing Man), to zombies and beyond, as well as tributes to classic surf/instrumental bands of the past, you'll find a connection with your inner nerd you didn't realize you had before.
Come ride the bore tides as we look to do our part to kickstart a very small and specific scene which is surf music. Let's rock this scene!
