Akron’s Premier Surf Band (From Facebook page)

[Instrumental Surf Rock from the industrious rubber city - Akron, OH]

Seafoam Tsunami is a 3-piece instrumental surf rock band from Akron, Ohio. The band was formed by guitarist Mike Juno, who studied the music of early surf rock bands before writing ST's original songs. His interest in surf rock partly came from living and surfing on both U.S. coasts. The band formed in 2017 when Mike Juno joined forces with Joe Middleton, a lifelong drummer who studied music theory and performed in percussion groups and touring rock bands. Bassist Ryan Baker, the band's newest addition, is a veteran of Northeast Ohio's music scene, and he plays, and teaches, the electric bass and upright bass. Together, the band plays a set of original songs that draw from the broad spectrum of the instro surf rock genre- the old, the new, the renowned, and the cult classics. In their live act, each brings his own sick maneuvers as they ride the same wave and create an infectious stoke of combined energy.

The Boardwalkers (California) 1989 to 2008?

http://www.chromeoxide.com/board/theband.htm

The Boardwalkers were started in 1989 by ex-members of Paisley Punk groups The Unclaimed and Thee Fourgiven. Bassist Ray Flores and I had developed the idea of a surf instrumental power trio; with Scot Forer. We were originally called Green Room. We played two shows under that name, the first was Christmas Eve 1989 at the gritty Toby Jug and in early 1990 at Helen's Anti-Club, then a fading punk venue.

Ray left to pursue business interests, but some of his ideas for tunes, in particular These Boots Are Made For Walkin', remain with the group. His replacement was an old band-mate of mine from Ohio, Forrest Bivens. He had a more traditional approach to bass playing, making it possible for the group to build a 40 song setlist, which included many rare tunes (The Truant, Steel Pier, High Wall, Our Favorite Martian, Bikini Drag, Moment Of Truth, Mar Gaya, Shockwave, Surfari) plus originals which I wrote.
The first single was recorded studio-live in October 1991, released in mid 1992. Shortly thereafter, Scot left the group. Jeff Utterback took over on drums. Jeff was experienced and enthusiastic, and has remained the driving force in the band for 10 years. Forrest moved back to Ohio late 1992, and Rick Linstrom joined on bass for a couple of years.
From 1995 to 1997 Pete Curry (Halibut's guitarist) played bass and recorded 2 songs on drums, Banzai Pipeline and It's A Bikini World.
In 1999 Rick returned to play bass until mid 2002. Along the way I had played bass with the Hillbilly Soul Surfers, so when I needed a bassist on short notice, Dave Sherman came to the rescue, filling in on the remaining 2002 gigs.
As of January 2003, part time Insect Surfer Mark Hoeschler joined the band on bass. As of November 2003, Marty Tippens on drums replaced Jeff Utterback. As of June 2006, Marty Tippens switched from drums to bass, and, Jeff Utterback replaced Marty Tippens on drums.
As of August 2006, Marty Tippens switched from bass to guitar, and Doug Forbes replaced Marty Tippens on bass. This changes the Boardwalkers to a four piece band. The current lineup is: Dan Valentie and Marty Tippens on guitar, Doug Forbes on bass, and Jeff Utterback on drums.
As of September 2006, Marty Tippens switched from guitar to drums, Doug Forbes is still on bass. This changes the Boardwalkers back to a three piece band. The current lineup is: Dan Valentie on guitar, Doug Forbes on bass, and Marty Tippens on drums.
As of December 2007, Jeff Utterback has returned on drums, and Jonpaul Balak is on bass. Occasionally Marty Tippens may add his considerable talents on guitar, bass, or drums.
SPECIAL THANKS TO: Linda Curtis, Jamie Murray/Mach Turtle Productions, Domenic Priore, Dave Arnson, Lee Joseph/Dionysus, Pete Curry, Dave Sherman, Captain Dan, Jay Hector, Phil Dirt, Steve Libis, Linda Miller, BigTikiDude, Purple Orchid's Dave Fernandez and to everybody that digs The Boardwalkers.

Biography (From Facebook page)

Chicago style Instrumental Surf/Punk with a Halloweeny twist.

John Nunnally: Before they became Kobanes, these Chicago Ramones-inspired poppy punkers formed this instro-surf band with a creepy, satanic theme and actually came up with twelve great, spooky instrumental surf tunes that transcend the schlock. Recorded in the Mecca of pop-punk, Sonic Iguana, by the Pope of pop-punk, Mass Giorgini ten years ago, then they broke up and none of us even knew about it until now. It's a very unlikely scenario, but hey, the devil works in mysterious ways.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bomboras

" The Bomboras are an American all-instrumental surf band from Los Angeles, California, United States. The band was formed in the summer of 1994, sharing a love of 1960s surf and garage music such as The Ventures, Booker T, and The Sonics.
Donning Day of the Dead regalia onstage, the fivesome tempered their retro-stylings with an update by way of The Ramones, The Pandoras, and Nuggets. Accompanied by frenzied Go Go girls, spitting flames, stage-diving, and destroying their own equipment, the Bomboras’ livid funhouse take on surf rock became an object of fan adoration, albeit a worry to the local fire department.[1]
The Bomboras took their name from a classic surf instrumental by the Original Surfaris (not to be confused with a different song with the same title, "Bombora," by the Australian surf combo The Atlantics) and released several albums on Burbank-based indie label Dionysus Records between 1995 and 1997. In summer 1997 Rob Zombie took notice of the band and signed them to his then newly formed Zombie a Go-Go label, which was distributed by Geffen Records.[1] The Bomboras finally called it quits in 2000 with some of the members forming the Lords of Altamont and some members formed The Legendary Invisible Men. Drummer Dave Klein is currently playing drums with legendary surf/punk band Agent Orange and produces bands at Dave Klein Recording, his private studio in Los Angeles. On December 31, 2006, New Year's Eve of 2007, The Bomboras played a return show in Hollywood. The Bomboras played a full set of songs at The Wild'O Fest in Mexico City June 16, 2018. "

" Los Straitjackets is an American instrumental rock band that formed in Nashville, Tennessee, United States, in 1988. Originally comprising guitarists Danny Amis (formerly of the Raybeats), Eddie Angel and drummer L. J. "Jimmy" Lester under the name The Straitjackets, the band split up soon after forming, but reunited as Los Straitjackets in 1994 with the addition of bassist E. Scott Esbeck. Esbeck left the band in 1998 and was replaced by Pete Curry.[2] The current lineup also features Greg Townson on guitar and Chris Sprague on drums. "

The Reverb Syndicate (Ottawa-ON, Canada)

https://www.facebook.com/TheReverbSyndicate

http://www.thereverbsyndicate.ca/

https://www.discogs.com/artist/2644615-The-Reverb-Syndicate

Biography (From Facebook page)

The Reverb Syndicate was formed in late-2005 in Ottawa, Canada with the simple concept of exploring and re-imagining the music of groups from The Ventures to Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet via the soundtracks of old spy movies. This concept has led them to four independently-released albums, heavy gigging throughout Ontario and Quebec, recurring gigs in New York City, and two UK tours.

In 2006, they introduced the masses to their blend of sixties spy movie music and classic surf rock with their debut album, "Operation: Jet Set!". In 2007, they blasted off into the stars with the space-themed "Sputnik A-Go-Go". In 2011, it was back to the wild west with "Mondo Cacti", where spaghetti westerns reign supreme.

Now The Reverb Syndicate is ready to begin a new adventure, one that finds our heroes pitted against an evil uprising of the Commodore 64 (spoiler alert: the machines win). Let the "Odyssey" begin...
