Well, it seems he lists "projects" from booster cabs - But without price, items or links. So no idea what the tag will be on this.
What I found is this for 239 € - Just covered housing, no Chassis, no PSU, no electronics.

Try to send a message to Boost here at the forum.
Thats the guy behind 'booster cabs'.
There are a few pictures of his fine cabs here at the forum.
Here for example:

The easiest, cheapest and most convenient way to go is housing your Surfy Bear in a 'pedal' enclosure and putting the tank inside a combo amp, in my case, a Hot Rod DeLuxe. I've built a few pedals and the Fetverb has been the easiest. No on/off switches - I just use the "mix" to control the reverb level. Its an easy reach. I'm old and don't mind hauling around less gear.
Only problem is I can't kick the damn thing anymore

I am going to do the same on my next fetverb Cam. I should see you guys on stage in July at Musica with the Beyonderers. Hopefully we get a great drummer in place within the next few weeks. Akrons first surf night!

That's actually a really smart idea. Maybe I'll just use my pedal for now and learn how to build one in the future.

I also like to think that all early 60's fender equipment is happy to be playing surf music again. After all, its the music it was meant to play.

Pretty cool! The Surfy Bear thread I started is almost 40 pages! I love my Surfy!

Than I'll try my best to get to 40th' mile:
How well the chassis needs to be shielded.
Should it be totally closed from all sides with no gaps?

The Surfy Bear is the easiest thing ever to wire up and get working. Making the chassis, enclosure and getting a transportable unit is pretty time consuming and the bit that would be the most expensive or subject to personal preference. Maybe find a friend that might be willing to do the work for a few beers.
I use mine loads, more than my valve one anyway, which is really only used for rehearsals and gigs.

You dont need to get it air tight
For chassis I bent a alu plate like U:
I could hear very small amount of hum, so I added alu foil on the back of the cabinet.
It all depends on how much interference you got in the room.

Out of interest, how much are the SB pre wired kits going to cost at Surfer Joe? I'm debating whether to order one now or have the distinction of saying I bought over the counter.

Maximumsurfandroll, I just wanted to let you know - When you power the Bear for the 1st time and hit the strings, it feels as if the ceiling was removed from over your head and the Pacific Ocean comes rushing in. A new dimension was just added to your life.
Now you decide if you wanna wait.
BTW, $62 is a ridiculously fair price, and for what this thing does, I'd pay twice that without hesitating.
At Surfer Joe's... you'll buy your 2nd one...

Hi,the general idea is that the price should be about the same (in Euro) in the Surfer Joe Store. I dont know about any special prices for the festival, apart from saving the shipping cost

That's a small price to pay for sooner gratification...ok, I'm putting an order in. If I drown in the Pacific Ocean that Ariel mentions then you guys can have my stuff.

Live and kicking!

Turns out that I'm a soldering orangutan like Jeremy Clarkson - I managed to solder the potentiometers the wrong way, and I burned my led because I didn't realize the 1k rectangle means a resistor.
But now all works fine and I'm starting to build the cabinet.
A small question: First time I got a fine sound. Later I had to re-solder the output RCA jack and it seems that the sound got a bit distorted. Can it be due to poor soldering of that jack?
Mark.

Looks like I might be ordering one of these... Real spring reverb that fits on my pedalboard for $100 overall - Might as well, right? The tank will be mounted on the underside of the board, I'll be using a 1AB2B1B. I don't expect anything great out of that tank, but for my purposes it'll do. I may end up building an enclosure for a larger tank as well later on, so the option is there.
It'll be going in a 1590bb, and I'll be swapping the RCA cables for typical 1/4". Hopefully I can modify it to work with a 9v power supply, but if not it's no big deal.

Preston, that's a fantastic idea. Might try that myself. I play in a psychobilly surf band mainly, but have a 'pure' surf band on the side. We're looking to gig, I would like a designated pedal board for it so that's an option.

Thanks!
I made my board tall so that I could fit stuff underneath, guess that's paying off! I throw pedals under there sometimes, "set and forget" like compression and EQ. Helps keep me from accidentally screwing up my settings mid gig. Hopefully I won't crash the tank every time I touch the board, lol.

Hi Mark!
Please check the in/out cables to the pan.
Possibly in/out is reversed.
