Check out this review from Hunter at Storm Surge of Reverb:
Let me suggest that you skip the first track. It's a good song, but it's got a thin garage-surf sound that gets the wrong idea across.
OK now we're going. You've got brass, a lot more low end, and some whammy bar. This is a much better idea of what to expect from Los Kosmos. This is fun modern surf with playful progressive leanings. I get moments of later Los Straitjackets and maybe even early Laika and the Cosmonauts (especially "V Jope Fantik"). Give a listen to "Mega Hit" and see if that little keyboard bit doesn't tickle you.
There's a lot of creativity on this album and it's full of surprises. As one of the first records of 2018, we're off to a great start.
Hey Everyone! We're stoked to announce that our full-length debut CD "The Lost Mission" is coming soon from Double Crown Records.
Finally a brand new full album of Surfer Joe is going to be released soon. The production is almost finished and we are looking for some details and the release date, for both 12" vinyl and CD.
It's not the only thing that will come out in 2018 for Surfer Joe, there's more on the plate, and plenty tours to present the recordings and the new songs.
In the next days some more information will be available, remember to check **www.surferjoe.me** for updates on the touring dates.
I'm pleased to announce the release of my new record, "Same Room, Different Hotel", a latin tinged, surf inspired collection of single coil twang.
It's available for streaming on iTunes, spotify, etc., and cd's are available at CDbaby.
The Surferific Dudes are proud to announce our first EP release Mountain Wave is now available for pre-order on bandcamp, with CD from Sharawaji Records available in the next few weeks.
The Phantom Operators have released their newest album, “Mala Suerte”. The album is 10 all new, original tracks. This comes on the heels of their last release, the “Surf Dopes on Punk” cover album and is their first original release since 2016’s “Death Valley Driver” single. “Mala Suerte” is available for purchase at PhantomOperators.bandcamp.com.
After a short hiatus, The Phantom Operators have released a 5-song EP, “Surf Dopes on Punk”. This EP features surf-soaked versions of punk classics by bands such as the Dead Kennedys, Agent Orange, the Misfits, and Social Distortion. The band considers this release a tribute to some of the bands that influenced them and hopes that listeners look up the originals after listening to their interpretations. The Operators also have plans to release a full-length album of original material in the new year. The band’s last full-length was 2016’s Hasta Muerte. “Surf Dopes on Punk” along with all of the band’s other material is available for purchase/download at Bandcamp
Max Recordings (of Little Rock, AR) is happy to announce the release of Christmas With The Supraphonics! This full-length album has 11 covers of Christmas classics and 1 original song. Very influenced by The Ventures' late 1960s psychedelic period (think Guitar Freakout, Super Psychedlics), these arrangements come with a lot of fuzz, wah, 12-string, and various organ sounds. Plus country and lounge flavors here and there. The website below takes you to various ways to enjoy the record-- Spotify, YouTube, Amazon, iTunes. Happy Holidays!
I am a Surf Guitarist and attended the International Surfer Joe Festival in Livorno, Italy in June 2017. I had a good time listening to some great international bands….
