It's time for a new surf music festival in the Netherlands! On November 16, DB's in Utrecht is the place to be for all surf music fans!
It offers a superb line up with Surfer Joe (the international surf ambassador from Italy), Los Tiki Boys (with Treble Spankers guitar player Marcel Kruub), Krontjong Devils (the oldest surfband of the Netherlands), Aloha Sluts (surfabilly) and Twang Inspectors (masters of the twang guitar).
If you show up in your wetsuit you have free admission and free drinks!

Active continuously since 1996, The Hollow Grinders are Aotearoa/New Zealand's longest-running surf band ever. Their new album Surfin' Taniwha collects 14 original surf tunes honed through their famously energetic live sets over the past 10 years or so.

Paul Johnson, one of the founders and pioneers of surf music (Mr. Moto anyone?), is having some health problems, and hopefully you've been following along in this forum thread. Paul has been a champion of and a constant presence at the SurfGuitar101 conventions over the years. Everyone who has attended a convention will remember Paul walking around grinning, giving the thumbs up to the bands, and of course performing tunes from his extensive and amazing catalog. He has contributed many insightful posts to our forums and has written a nice history of surf music which you can go read here.
Everyone at SurfGuitar101 wishes all the best to Paul on his tough road ahead. We can't wait to see him at a future convention!
