I've been working on the opening song to my album alot lately. Casino Royale ('37). its got a james bondy/ alien invasion sort of riff and lyrically it personifies a slot machine as a woman. I have writers block pretty often so lately i've just been working on the structure

I worked out a kinda bluegrass solo arrangement of "Stairway to Heaven" on my spiffy new Gretsch 6122 12-string. I played it through the Quilter MicroPro 200. That amp gives the Gretsch a great sound.

Thanks Fady. Yeah, Roxie (the pup) is a stalwart companion. -Marty

Awesome playing, and awesome tone from both the cool guitar, and the Quilter amp. Nicely done!!!

Bob

Thanks Robbie. That Quilter Amp continues to amaze me. Another feature that I don't see Quilter heralding in their literature is that it is a full range amp and therefore excels as an acoustic guitar amp as well. -Marty

I've found that out as well Marty. It's also served double duty a few times already as a p.a.

I just had a chance to borrow a Rick 12 stringer. I strung it up with flats which really tames those super clangy highs.

Marty, try this if you haven't already. On your quilter put the gain real high and then put the limiter on full. It acts as a compressor and really brings out some great character on the 12.

Great playing by the way!!!

Thanks Danny. I will give that limiting trick a try. -MT

Hi guys, after I left my band, and take a break (my son was born 3months ago) I started to play my instrumental guitar songs again (I dont write surf, because theres no really surf mood in these).

For the first time, I collect every usable stuff, to see, what i have (unfinished songs, old forgotten melodies, everything - what I think - good.

I uploaded theme to my soundcloud (1-3 home-alone, 4-6 with my old band), opinions are welcome! important: there arent good songs there - i mean: i love my songs, but i hate the tracks, the sound of the guitar, my playing, the mix... Smile so, if you want to say something, dont be polite

my Soundcloud

you can here, sometimes i leave the 'well known surfmusic playground' experimenting, trying new stuff, rhythm changes/modulations etc, and im a little bit confused about these, sometimes i feel 'oh, thats the best music on the earth!!' sometimes: 'its a piece of ...', anyway: I'm curious: what are you thinking about theme?

thanks!

ps: if its [off topic], im sorry

original compositions (low-level demo stuff /out of tune, etc) myStuff not my best, but i don't like to be in a musician community without anything to show

"Rebel Rouser" and "Rumble" for me right now...you've got to start somewhere, right?

-Cam

'exodus' the way the supertones play it. i like the ska beat.

www.surfintheeye.com

blown away by the treble spankers version, I just had to learn their version of "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly." stoked version. Now figuring out the chords.

Cool, "mom"! Not enough talk about Tim & Co's sound 'round here. Good stuff!
