Ali Baba! Wanted to play this for ages, and I'm finally getting to it. I've been using some tab (that's been hanging around forever on a bit of paper), Ralf's inspiring YouTube vid, and -- when all else fails -- actually listening to the song. It's hard to beat the old 'First Wave' tunes for sheer playing fun. |

Checkpoint Echo bass. Mom talking about it made me fire it up for the first time in a while. —Will "You're done, once you're a surfer you're done. You're in. It's like the mob or something. You're not getting out." - Kelly Slater |

Lullaby of the Leaves. Trying to get it up to speed w/o 'tripping', which is what I call missing a note or putting an extra in. |

I've always worked on that chord picking progression on Lullaby of the Leaves. It's a great exercise. Sometimes I get it. —The Mystery Men? |

Yeah, that descending arpeggio run is tripping me up when I try to play it at full tempo. Superfun song to play though. |

I'll write it down once I get done. Might be a while. We got 9 months....lets do it. Need to find a drummer and another guitarist. Any ideas? —Will "You're done, once you're a surfer you're done. You're in. It's like the mob or something. You're not getting out." - Kelly Slater |

Will, I despise mp3s: the quality sucks. But I found the album on CD Baby...so I will get a full-fidelity CD version as soon as payday rolls around again. Last edited: Oct 19, 2011 21:44:09 |
