Björn
Got the R4 board this week thanks so much.
So I wired her all up and get sound from the Surfy Bear.
Now if I increase the mixer knob at all I get huge amount of Hum.
Even with no power to unit with amp on, No input to Surfybear guitar cable disconnected same issue,
It's on the bench right now not in box.
tired three power supplies no difference mad sure of polarity,
Any Ideas?
OK I fixed it! RTFM!!!
had output jack wired backwards made for nice 25 antenna!!! radio station and all!
And found one small possible solider bridge!
Cowabunga! reverb and no hum!!!
now to put it back in the tool box as a Race car dude I had to use the tool box idea!!!

Will there be a Surfy Bear Rev5 with the features shown on the prototype at the Surfer Joe festival?
http://fuzzkaizer.tumblr.com/post/121182163116/surfy-bear-fet-reverb-showcase-prototypes-to-be
- True Bypass
- Two switchable Mixer-settings
- Relay switching
- Volume control
- Buffered output
- C10 easy access
And a Decay pot – controlling the length of reverb tail

Hi Benevan.
The FET Reverb R5 will be the same as R4 but with full protection against reverse polarity supply voltage. I hope to get these boards in a few weeks.
I am also working on a 'SurfGuitar-board'. Its an additional board with additional features. A little more complicated to build, more wires to solder and you still need the FET Reverb board.
Since I am doing this on my spare time, things takes time

True Bypass
Two switchable Mixer-settings
Relay switching
Volume control
Buffered output
C10 easy access
Decay pot – controlling the length of the reverb tail

It will fit the same enclosure that any pan would. I have tones of spare room in my Craftsman toolbox for your next creation, Bjørn!

A Surfy Bear version of Billy Zoom's Little Kahuna would be the bomb!

As for the vibe side of things, how about taking the same route as the ReVibe/ToReVibe, emulating Fender's harmonic tremolo or bias modulating tremolo (these are the two types of tremolo used on the Brownface amps)? I don't know if a tube-bias modulating tremolo is at all possible with FETs, but anyway...

Oh yes, a FET harmonic tremolo would be fantastic Björn!
Either together with a FET reverb or as a stand-alone pedal/unit.

This is what makes these projects fun!!!
To discuss what surf musicians need
Please post if you got info about tremolo types or schematics!

This http://el34world.com/Hoffman/revibe_origin.htm is where I first read about the ReVibe, i.e. the idea of combining the 6G15 reverb and the Fender brownface harmonic tremolo (in this case the one from the Fender Concert amp).
There is a schematic of the Torevibe on the Weber website: http://www.tedweber.com/5h15t-c-kt, AFAIK this is not an original Weber development, though.

Looking at your beautifully crafted circuit boards and all those tiny soldered components, man it's like city down there! I fear for your eyesight and sanity sometimes! What are your needs for the future if that isn't too personal question.

How about the tremolo-to-vibrato circuit in old Kustom amps? I had a SC150 that sounded really gorgeous. The control effected a blend between frequency- & amplitude-modulation; both were very nice and the blend option was really sweet.

@Björn: I would LOVE to have a Surfy Bear FET Reverb and Trem Tank! Like Roy said, a harmonic (brownface) tremolo is exactly what should be in there IMO.
The right side of my unit is still unused and simply begs for a trem. The big knob would be the speed knob, while the small one would be assigned to intensity. There are also 2 switches that could be used as toggles between a black- and brownface circuit. 'Sortie H.F.' would be the footswitch jack. Check it out:
@Roy: I don't think the ToReVibes Trem has a harmonic (brownface) trem. Sounds pretty blackface to my ears and here's a demo video. The owner/creater also says in the comments that it's a Vibrochamp circiut.
Anyway, pretty nice unit.
