As admitted elsewhere in this thread several times, this task is almost impossible. I could have easily included 10 more bands and at least 10 songs from each that are my "top 10" as I'm sure everyone else could as well. I should have included MOAM, The Penetrators, Slacktone, Los Straitjackets and Untamed Youth, too, as they all had great material c.1998 or before. I'm not even going to try and list the classic titles.

And Chip knows more than 10 (Non Nebulas) surf songs by name... at least I hope he does or tomorrow night's going to be a shit show.

OK everybody. All the re-runs of the Revival Specials have aired now.
There are no thinkable excuses anymore not to submit your personal Revival Top 10 yet. The number of votes is way behind on the Classic list. So stop hesitating, make up your minds and post your Top 10´s!

8. The Space Cossacks - "Jewel of Duende" (luxurious song)
9. The Surf Raiders - "Point Conception" (nice period feel to it)
10. The Huntington Cads "El Cordobes" (enthusiasm counts)

Since the opening of the lists this one caused the most consternation due to a 2x decades long hiatus from playing music in general. Thanks to a few of the members here and especially North Sea Surf Radio for furthering the fast-track of edjumacation into more current stuff.

Several sea-going tankers of material out there. Looking forward to hearing the final result, whatever it may be.

I guess my list reflects a little bit of a 90s bias, but that's the period i listened the most to revival surf anyway.
A lot of bands I really like wasn't included, mostly because in a list like this I go for that trademark tune that sticks out rather than overall quality of band.

As others have said, this was really hard relative to the classic era. Laika & The Cosmonauts, The Mermen and Shadowy Men were my introduction to surf, along with Dick Dale, and I could have made a top 10 for each and passionately believed every song should be in your countdown. But the past few years getting more familiar with this site and the Continental Records compilations has really opened my eyes to the creativity going on right now, and even though these songs don't have the nostalgic glow that the music of my teens does, it's easy to hear the same level of greatness present.

Also, I made this list offline before I saw you were posting above me, Wavy! Awkwardness aside, what a great site this is...

Nebula One is a very very good choice! I almost put it on my list, but I put Supernova by them on there at the last moment.
