Greetings, all! My parents named me Aaron, but you can call me Bones (or Aaron, I don't care.) I've been drumming for the best surf band in North Texas (read: the only surf band in North Texas) The Fintastics for close to a year now. It's been my first exposure to surf music as a genre, and I dig it. Outside of The Fintastics, I've been drumming my whole life, and playing guitar for around 15 years. I'm always looking for rad new music and rad new people, so don't be a a stranger. |

Good Day, Redeemed Wretch, been playing bass since '95, mainly fretless, and make noises on guitars and drums. Was raised in a VERY musical family, cutting my teeth on Sinatra, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, and then my older sisters had me on 60's-70's rock. I then went through my metal phase, but ended up really loving the Rockabilly/Psychobilly and Surf scene. I have recently been ditching all my digital pedals, replacing them with analog, and saving up for a good tube amp and a guitar with single coils and a tremolo. Anywho, hope to gain knowledge from y'all. Oh yeah, I surf and skate (longboards for both)! —"How OLD are you guys?" a Fairfax County Cop to a group of 40-something skaters after watching us bomb a hill. |

Bones, welcome to SG 101! Damn glad to meet you. BTW, many decades ago I was stationed at Sheppard AFB. Your home town was pretty kind to a kid from California. —Happy Sunsets! |

Hi SG101ers, like most of the other newbies posting here, I was lurking around the site for awhile . . . . . always putting off joining. A little background info: my name is John I'm in my mid-50s and live in Sydney Australia. I've been playing guitar since I was fourteen and have been in and out of various bands playing at different levels for the past 35 years. Looking forward to engaging in a bit of banter, throwing ideas around and learning new stuff. —https://www.facebook.com/thebigswelldrifters/ |

Welcome aboard, John! By the way, just in case anyone’s interested, my associate is selling a few wheels and tires with tire mounting. If anyone’s interested, feel free to PM me. Last edited: Apr 14, 2020 17:28:28 |

Hey all, I guess I should introduce myself to the scene. Name is Jeff, grew up in confines of NYC, but branched out later including a stint on the Big Island in the late 80s while it was still semi-wild. Never surfed but spent most of my adult life around water, whether as a divemaster under it or a goalie on the frozen variety. In terms of music, been playing bass since 8th grade in '78 (for the girls of course) and haven't put it down since no matter how much everyone asks me to. The recent years have been mostly RHCP on a EBMM StingRay and very recently settled into pulling some of that off on the upright. Now I'm jumping in the surf game: grabbed a semi hollow, reverb, valve amp and a Theremini. Been a lifelong B-movie Sci Fi and Horror fan, so I'm leaning towards horror/surf of course. Between the 6 string, bass, piccolo snare and Theremin I think I can scare up some interesting stuff. Looking forward to getting involved and picking some brains...
