Bad-ass poster!

I love this poster, Crispy. But I am rather partial to the teaser poster from Facebook that featured astronaut versions of Bea Authur and Link Wray.

I like it, too. Jason Lonon whipped that up as a quickie after I reminded him of the "Maude in Outer Space" format I mentioned in my original emails with him. But Jason, hi-quality man that he is, would never allow a hastily thrown together idea to stand, hence the new poster.

The other image (which also has Dick Dale in between Maude and Link) will be on all of our postcards that Double Crown is printing up, so It'll be around for all to see.

Just got the postcards today! You can get one at the fest, in fine shops and eateries in Durham, or ordering anything from us (we'll throw in a postcard, as well as other Double Crown stickers and goodies, while supplies last).

Damn!
For some reason that line up looks even
More inticing on the flyer.
Great work Crispy.
Good luck as always,
And wish I could be there.

Uber busy weekend: the first batch of showbills hit the streets, Double Crown's postcards arrived, press releases went out to the papers, and CD samplers got mailed. Now I have to update the various pages, and finish making the raffle boxes. Promo videos will be shot on Thursday.

Incidentally, Raffle tickets are here and ready for action. This year's prizes include:

A DiPinto Belvedere Guitar (courtesy of DiPinto Guitars)

A Year’s Supply of Utz Potato Chips (courtesy of Utz Quality Foods)

An Electro-Harmonix Talking Pedal (courtesy of The Music Loft of Carrboro)

A Golden Age '63 Strat-style body made from Southern Swamp Ash, and three Golden Age pickups (Courtesy of Stewart-MacDonald)

We have once again purchased the fancy raffle tickets where you provide your contact information, so you don’t have to be present at the drawing, or the Summit–or even the same state–to enter (we shipped two of our prizes to Connecticut last year, so we know what we’re talking about!) Raffle tickets are five bucks each, and can be purchased at the Music Loft of Carrboro, during the Summit, from various Instro Summit musicians and volunteers, and online by contacting us at:

instrosummit@gmail.com

Good news: I figured out how to do this whole thing with Pay Pal, so y'all don't have to mail me a check like you did in year's past. This means tickets can be bought online as late as 4/27 and they'll still be ready in time for the drawing.

If all goes right, I'll be posting videos about the prizes online next week.

In the meantime, I just finished putting together the raffle boxes, and have learned that my gift wrapping ability is frustratingly elusive. Last year's boxes were crisp and pristine as a five-star bento box that would've made Martha Stewart proud. This year's look like they were thrown together by a couple of ADD Cub Scouts that accidentally Krazy Glued their thumbs to their palms. Picard Face Palm

In addition to everything else great that Crispy is making happen at the Summit, I'm authorized to say I am bringing two amps with me to be available for demonstration and performing if anyone wants to. A Quilter Aviator Ultralite Eight with 2-button footswitch and a Quilter MIcroPro-8" 200 with 2 and 6-button footswitches. May the tone be with you.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Just listened to the Vivisector's new record. Holy CRAP! Shock With the exception of track 10, that booger ain't surf--it's METAL! Rock And scary as heck, too! If Rob Zombie doesn't know about these guys yet, he needs to. They are seriously gonna blow some minds on Summit Sunday.

A bunch of updates:

Raffle boxes are now out and about, at both the Carrboro Music Loft and at the Casbah. As mentioned before, you also enter the raffle at the Summit proper, or online at instrosummit@gmail.com

Also, Jason Lonon just sent me another sweet flier, this time for the "Can You Play as Wack'd as Link Wray?" competition. Here's a link:

Currently editing videos for our sponsors. If all the video footage doesn't give my ancient computer indigestion, I should have something to show off by the end of the week of not sooner.

Raffle videos are done:

Looks great, Crispy. I will surely be picking up a few tickets at the Summit..as well as donating a few things to the Swag Case.

One new development:

We had an advance ticket holder contact the Casbah as request a refund on a three-day pass, but found out the Casbah has a strict "no refunds" policy. I suggested the fella put it up for sale on the sg101 site, so if one pops up in the For Sale/Trade section, you'll know why.

Nineteen days away, everybody.

Sad News:

I just learned this afternoon that the Necronomikids have fallen apart. I'm currently on the prowl for their replacement, but them's is gonna be BIG ol' shoes to fill...
