Update on Nokie Edwards Concert in Santa Cruz

Hey gang, we wanted to remaind everyone of the upcoming show with Nokie Edwards (lead guitar of the Ventures as you all know). The Reefriders will open the show at 9:00p, you gotta see these guys, thier drummer Glen kicks some serious punk/surf butt. Robbie Allen and the Sundogs will be there doing their surf/psychedelic thing, and then Nokie will be performing an all-Ventures setlist, backed by Robbie and the Sundogs

Ticket price for the Nokie Edwards concert at the Brookdale Inn will be $20 but we've arranged for surfguitar101 members to get a discount if they buy online at the http://nokieedwards.eventbrite.com page.
Click on the button that says 'Discount Code' or something like that and type in "surfguitar101" and your ticket price drops to $15.

There will also be both an acoustic guitar drawing and an electric guitar drawing at the Nokie Edwards concert at the Brookdale Inn in March.
You can also buy tickets and keep up-to-date on the concert by going to http://www.m3california.com/brookdale

The Ventures And The Wailers - Two Car Garage

The Ventures and The Wailers will be doing a single night show at The Moore Theater in Seattle on April 10th, 2009.

In 1958, Bob Bogle and Don Wilson, formed the nucleus of the original music group, The Ventures. The duo was joined a few years later by Nokie Edwards to record “Walk, Don't Run”. The song hit Billboard's Singles Chart on July 18, 1960 and peaked at #2. The band was prolific during the 60’s with touring and recording albums. This show will mark their 50th anniversary.

The Wailers was one of the most dominating forces in the 60s Northwest music scene, The Wailers are an American rock band from Tacoma, Washington. Formed around 1958, they are often considered the first garage rock group. They perform a hybrid of saxophone-driven R&B and good old Chuck Berry rock and roll.
