Wow!  It's May already and things are really getting going!  We've got tons of FUN FUN FUN shows coming up.  We'll be all over California within next few weeks and celebrating our 10 years as a band!

 Here's the schedule:

 May 15th at Slim's in San Francisco with The Red Elvises.  9pm, $15.

 May 16th at McNear's Mystic Theatre in Petaluma with The Red Elvises.  Doors at 7pm, Pyronauts at 8pm, $15, 21 and over.

 May 17th at KFJC Surf Battle III at the Hotel Utah in San Francisco.  1 to 6pm, Pyronauts at 4.

 June 6th at The Purple Orchid in El Segundo with Slacktone.  9pm, $10, 21 and over.  221 Richmond Street, El Segundo, CA.

 June 7th at Huntington Beach Pier Plaza!  11am, just to the North of the Pier, right on the beach!

 June 12th at Cruise Nite in Auburn.  6 to 9pm at 140 Harrison (in front of Pistol Pete's).

 June 13th at "Hangin' Ten" 10 Year Anniversary Party!  BIG BIG BIG party!  145 Elm Ave in Auburn, CA.  6pm.  Free Admission!  Free Raffle!  We'll be giving away a guitar and other cool stuff!  Liquor Outlet will be selling drinks and Pistol Pete's Pizza will be selling Pizza.  Come help us celebrate 10 years as a band.  Surprise Guests!

Surf, Spy and Spaghetti trio: Don't Fear the Reverb will perform in concert at the Redmoor in Mt. Lookout a suburb of Cincinnati OH on 23 MAY 2009 we are opening for Maurice Mattei's the TEMPERS - Maurice designed the posters for the first two CINCINNATI SURF ROCK EXPLOSION posters 1 & 2.

The Beach is a very sandy water park with some great wave pools and slide rides and we will perform a 3 set show there on 10 JULY 2009 from 6 to 9 PM.

Robbie Allen and The Outer Edge will be performing on Memorial Day, May 25th, at the Sacramento Fair taking place at Cal Expo. The show begins at 11:00 AM.

Tiki Oasis takes place at the Crown Plaza Hanalei in San Diego, CA, August 13-16, 2009.

May 9th 2009 at The Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, Oh there will be a tribute concert honoring Link Wray.  Come out and enjoy a full night of instrumentals, vintage rock, roots rock and surf.  Opening the show will be Cleveland's own Topcats, then playing high powered reverb surf and their favorite Link tunes will be Chicago's own Wraygun. Link Wray's Raymen featuring John Van Horn, Ed Cynar, and Pat Greenwood will be playing a wide variety of Link's greatest songs even songs that Link never got to play live. Link Wray's grandson Chris will also be playing Link's songs with Gary Small and Jason Kay. Closing the night will be Webb Wilder doing what he does best. The show starts early 7 p.m. until they throw us out.

(LOS ANGELES, April 28, 2009) – Famed The Cars’ guitarist, Elliot Easton debuts Elliot Easton’s Tiki Gods, an Exotica instrumental group featuring some of music’s greatest talents on Friday, May 8, at Key Club.  With members from The Brian Wilson Band and The Wondermints, this nine-piece ensemble plans to create waves in the exotica, Tiki music scene.  Doors at 9:00 p.m. Ticket price is $10.00 and advance tickets are available at www.Ticketmaster.com or at the Key Club box office (310) 274-5800.

KFJC Radio presents the Fourth KFJC Battle of the Surfin' Bands. Organized by the bands to thank KFJC for it's continued support of obscure genres like surf music, this is also a celebration of live music and a gathering of fans to check out new talent, and old favorites. While some of the bands have been playing for longer than a decade, toured extensively and have multiple releases, a full half of the bands on this year's bill were formed within the last two years, confirming surf music's ongoing popularity. Each band gets a 15 minute set to show off their finest material and distinct sound, and any band that makes a memorable impact on the audience is a winner at this battle.

The Ghastly Ones, The Tomorrowmen, The Verbtones featuring surf guitar legends Eddie Bertrand and Paul Johnson, The Surge, Secret Samurai, The Sand Devils, The Detonators,  The Reventlos, and probably a surprise short set by a band doing a reunion. a few weeks later.

Verbtones, The Surge, The Reventlos, The Eliminators, and The Chantays.

And working on getting the Duo tones, Paul Johnson, and Gil Ore at Don the Beachcombers, in Sunset Beach, 5 min north of HB pier.

Link Wray Tribute concert - May 9, 2009 at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, Oh.  Performing will be Link Wray's Raymen, Webb Wilder, Wraygun, The Topcats, Chris Webb, Jason Kay, & Gary Small special guests. This will be only the third tribute to Link ever, first in Cleveland. The venue is located at 15711 Waterloo rd. Cleveland, Oh. and tickets are available at the Beachland's website.

The Five kick off with a gig supporting Sydney's The Model School at Ric's Bar, Brisbane on 9th May.

Over the next 5 months The Five will be playing a limited run of 5 gigs, and releasing a 5-track EP of original tunes.

Stylistically the band's music covers Link Wray/Davie Allan/The Shadows/Dick Dale/The Ventures and all ports between.
