Link Wray Tribute concert - May 9, 2009 at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, Oh.  Performing will be Link Wray's Raymen, Webb Wilder, Wraygun, The Topcats, Chris Webb, Jason Kay, & Gary Small special guests. This will be only the third tribute to Link ever, first in Cleveland. The venue is located at 15711 Waterloo rd. Cleveland, Oh. and tickets are available at the Beachland's website.

The Five kick off with a gig supporting Sydney's The Model School at Ric's Bar, Brisbane on 9th May.

Over the next 5 months The Five will be playing a limited run of 5 gigs, and releasing a 5-track EP of original tunes.

Stylistically the band's music covers Link Wray/Davie Allan/The Shadows/Dick Dale/The Ventures and all ports between.

Robbie Allen and The Outer Edge will be performing at the Park Chalet on April 25th, drummer Gary Christensen's birthday. So those of you in the Bay Area come on out and have a good time and offer your congrats for Gary. This will also mark Josh Tucci's last performance with the group until later this year as he will be spending the rest of spring and summer back home in Wisconsin due to prior commitments. Original bassist Geoffrey Clegg will be filling in until his return.

Howdy Surfer Boys and Girls!

There are many many things happening in The Pyronauts world, so read on to not miss important information:

We've been busy planning our 10 year anniversary party for June 13th this summer!  Make your plans now to be in attendance!  We will be featuring many former band members, have special guests, special displays, new merchandise, and possibly some very rare out of print vintage merchandise!  We hope to have serveral of our 10+ current and former drummers as well as our some of our 8 current and former bass players!  This will be a free show held at the former "U-Turn" building in Auburn.  Please contact us and let us know if you'd like to help with the show or have any cool pictures or video that you can send us!

We also have a very important show on May 15th at Slim's in San Francisco.  This is a huge club and it is a very big deal that we are opening for The Red Elvises there on this Friday night (May 15th).  It's our first time playing there and we need everyone's help to fill this place up!

Is anybody planning on going to Brookdale outside of Santa Cruz this weekend? Well...if you are then you're in for a treat. No, this isn't just another reminder about the show with The Ventures guitarist Nokie Edwards on March 21st with Robbie Allen's band, and The Reefriders. Actually...

The Shitones will also be performing this Friday, March 20th at The Brookdale Inn. An arrangement is being made so that guests who attended the Shitones show will get $3.00 off on their admission the next night with Nokie Edwards. (Sorry, discount does not apply to Surfguitar101 members who already purchased their tickets in advance using the coupon code.)

For those of you in the Sacramento area who can't make it down for the weekend's activites, Robbie Allen and the Sundogs will be playing at Constable Jacks in Newcastle, CA Friday night at 9:00 PM. As a result, if you are planning on going to the Brookdale show and can make it out to Robbie Allen and his band's gig in Newcastle, then you'll also recieve the $3.00 discount when you attend Nokie's show at the Brookdale Inn.

The AquaSonics will be bringing the Surf sound to the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender for 3 nights, April 10, 11, and 12, 2009 inside the Orleans Hotel and Casino at Brendans Pub With our beautiful Go-Go girl Miss Kitty Baby. This is the first news I can give regarding the US guests for the SJ Summer Festival. Pollo del Mar will come touring Italy and Germany - at least - on July. Dates range is between July 15 and July 26, with an appearance at the Surfer Joe Summer festival on Saturday 25. They are not the only band coming, but I will say more in the next days hopefully. For updates regarding the festival you will be able to look at www.surferjoemusic.com/festival, and I will post more about US touring bands. We will deal with other bands in the next months and 99% we will have Slacktone again on September, Surfaris on October. I will manage the Italian dates with Blitz Studio as usual. Plus we have already scheduled Vibrants (Spain), Barbwires (Sweden), Dead Rocks (Brazil). So, jump on the flight with Ferenc & Co. and come to the festival please...
