Yeah I was doing all kinds of variations on the whistling thing yesterday and thought 'This is either really easy or I'm getting really good'. So that settles that.

Pachelbel's Kanon by the Baronics

I have to pick out each guitar part by ear while cross referencing the sheet music, record all the parts (bass and three guitars- no drums) then hand them out to the band members with their part highlighted and the other tracks ghosted.

it is a lot of work but I have the strongest ear and is the fastest way for the band to learn new complex songs. It is fun too!

Just use your right-hand fingernail to scratch the string. It's really not difficult, there's no skill required for it.

Thanks, I think I got it now. Embarrassed

And back to the topic I'm doing my 3rd version of a song I wrote called 'The Bull'. This last and final version will be called el toro es flojo! and is true surf: Half as long, twice as fast with every note planned out.

Space Victory Theme by Space Cossacks. Sometimes a 'thing' just grabs me & I can't let go till I've learned something out of it (or wake up in another part of the world). My Strat's middle pickup is so sweet for this. OK, hands, now pay attention...

Same song I work on every year at this time -- it's almost Christmas.

Just finished my parts on my SG101 comp submission, so I guess I was working on that.
It's not done or submitted yet because I'm getting some help from some SG101 friends and I'm really excited about that.

Other than that: New Crazy Aces Tunes!

Cheers,
Jeff

No kidding, you'll have me beat by about 30° of mercury & we'll have the overnight freezing rain to start the deer-hunting highway roller derby. (Maybe I'll just roll over...)

What's up in Atlanta? Confused

I learned Mr. Rebel last night! Well... I think I learned it. I haven't played along with the recording yet.

Really looking forward to finally meeting you in person, too, Jeff! Earlier on the plane down, I gave "Surfadelic Spy-a-Go-Go" yet another spin - man, Broken and Busted and Rain on Sunday are just wonderful songs! Love 'em!

See you tomorrow!

Wow, thank you Ivan.
I really appreciate you giving the record a listen.
Remind me to tell you a funny story about recording and engineering the lead track on "Busted"
Tomorrow's going to be a blast!

Jeff
