correction
they have (ok) burgers,
the TK burger in Huntington Beach, that HB kahuna mentioned is next door to a Dairy Queen. I will go to TK for a burger, then go to DQ for a Reese's Peanut butter cup Blizzard, then go into a food coma, and die.

Speaking of burgers, I just heard that they're putting "Burger Bar" where I work - the giant Macy's in San Francisco. The first (and only so far I think) one is in Vegas. Apparently they offer a $60 burger called the Rossini. Described as: Kobe beef, sautéed foie gras, shaved truffles, Madeira sauce, on onion bun Named after a XIX th century Italian composer whose love for fine food was legendary. The preparation always includes foie gras, truffles and a rich brown sauce, in this case, Madeira.

I can't wait Laughing

They also offer "dessert" burgers such as the chocolate burger and cheesecake burger.

Never had a TK burger, so I wouldn't know the comparison. When I was in Ventura, for 3 months in 2004, there was an In-N-Out across the street from the Marriott on Harbor Blvd. I guess if I ever get back out to California, and find myself at Huntington Beach, I'll have to try a TK burger.

The best chain store burger I've had in Florida is the Whataburger , as featured on "King of the Hill". I also still love a Big Mac because they are only made one way and I can order one without worrying about ketchup and mustard being on it. My homemade preference is a cheeseburger with sauteed onions on potato toast. One of my oldest long lost burger memories is of a drive-in called the Red Barn in Washington Indiana on US 50. I remember they also served fried fish sandwiches. Another non burger Indiana favorite is the tenderized fried pork tenderloin sandwich.

BTD beat me to that, they have HOT looking ladies workin there.

Hey SF area folks... is the Hungry Hippo still there?

they had great burger back in the (gulp) 70s

Now I'm going to have to make a trip to Kunkle's Drive-In, as soon as I get a chance! If ya ever happen to make it to Connersville, Indiana, it's kinda hard to miss Kunkle's Drive-In, if you're on Park Road around K-mart. The car hops may not roller skate, but the eatin' is good, and maybe a tad more expensive than the Burger King, a block to the south, and although the food don't "instantaneously" appear, it's worth the experience. During the summer, on Saturday evenings, there is a cruise-in at Kunkle's Drive-In, complete with a DJ playing 50s and 60s rock/pop tunes.

oh yeah,. here in Anaheim over on the east side of town there is a place called Angelo's and they have car hop service on skates, and very scantily clad at that I might add. Wink
they used to have hot rod cruise night there.
not sure if they still do.
need to go check that out,
oh and they have killer burgers and onion rings there.

Outside Stockholm there was a hamburger bar offering a burger called "Mammas Lyxsmask" ("Mama's Luxurious Yum-Yum") for 500 kr ($70) that included expensive Russian caviar. Never tried it myself but I liked their "Mammas Snedsteg" ("Mama's Slip") which had räksallad (shrimps in mayoneise) on top of the burger.

In Virginia Beach, Five Guys, they look really sloppy, but they are like the best burgers in town, and they're fries are amazing. There's two in town, one up near the bay, one near Cheasapeake, but I'm suprised there's none at the Oceanfront. image

I also like to think that all early 60's fender equipment is happy to be playing surf music again. After all, its the music it was meant to play.

We have a bunch of Five Guys here as well, and I will say that it's probably the best fast food burger I've had. the problem is I have to pass The Vortex to get one, and there's just just no point. Laughing

Yeah, well In Virginia Beach, there's very few burger joints, there's a lot of World cuisine, expecially at the Oceanfront with Greek, Jewish, British, and other types. There is the Beach Bully, which is the best Barbecue in town.image

I always get the Beef Brisket, but my little brother tells me the burger is great there. It's at like 601 19th Street near the Oceanfront, another great resteraunt it the Beach Pub, but they sell more seafood. It's pretty good, but there's always a lot of people smoking in there, at the bar.

Hey I love BBQ too,
but lets keep this on burgers.
if we want to talk BBQ, lets start a new thread.

Doed BTD have any relatives in Pennsylvania?

In this Monday, Oct. 13, 2008 photo released by Denny's Beer Barrel Pub, Brad Sciullo of Uniontown, Pa., is seen before attempting to eat a 15-pound cheese burger with five-pounds of toppings including bun, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, onions, mild banana peppers and a cup each of ketchup, mustard, relish, and mayonnaise at Denny's Beer Barrel Pub in Clearfield, Pa., Monday, Oct. 13, 2008. Sciullo finished the concoction in 4 hours and 39 minutes.

No I don't,
but I know I want to go there now.

We have a few good places here in town that'll stop your heart.
The closest to my work is a little joint called Murf's Better Burger, apperently it used to be a place called Whopper Burger, and Burger King stole the name from them.
Then there's Burger Boy, which I'm told was also a Burger Boy.
And then we have Chris Madrid's home of the Cheddar Cheesy Macho
image
And then if you want to venture up to Austin, there's Casino El Camino, which was recently on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives.

All really good burger places if you're ever here in San Antonio or Austin.
