Hey Everybody,
just a Heads up about the
Surf Guitar 101 Convention,

This will be at Suzy's bar and grill in Hermosa Beach,
Corner of Aviation and Prospect, between Artesia and PCH
Noon to 5 or 7 pm, separate night show is 8 pm to midnight
but your welcome to come at 11 am or so.

1st off its gonna be many things
a Swap Meet of surf music(cds, lp's 45s -new used), and instrument/gear
shirts, posters, hats etc. if you have surf swag/merch to sell bring it, grab a free table and sell away.
Major Vendors will be.
Double Crown Records,
Dionysus Records,
Golly Gee Records
Gomez Amplification
Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum
John Blair with his re-issue of The 80's album Stampede on CDw bonus trx
Machturtle Productions, and many surf bands cds.
plus many other bands members will be there selling their cds.
and there will be 1 table with Tiki magazine and other tiki related stuff
if you get tired of the Surf stuff.

**but Please save enough Money for the Night show, and their Merch. they need money too, as some of them are coming from The Mid West and

and multi media presentations,
Dominic Priore's Assistant Brian from the Dumb Angel Gazette and Surf Pop Culture Books, will have some of their books and mags.showing surf music clips from the 60's and a slide show of historic pictures.
and Possibly have the Original Surfaris Sufari LP for sale.(Lmited qtys)

There will be a short trailer of the "Sound of Surf" music documentary that is in production now, and they may be doing interviews at this event for the film.

Paul Johnson will be having the premier of Pounding Surf! DVD Surf Drumming Instructionals,
plus historic stories and footage from the 60's surf scene.
plus all of the different cds he has for sale.

I Figured it would be best to announce it asap, as I know the sooner the better, for arranging for airfare and sleeping and car accommodations.

There is also a San Diego show with Pollo Del Mar,Madeira,Secret Samurai, and Zombie Surf Camp, on the Fri. nite. Aug 1st. If anybody would like to go down there to get an early start on the Reverb overdose weekend

yes it is a lot of stuff, and will be a challenge to keep it on track.
But I am very certain with a lot of help and cooperation from everybody.
things will run smoothly.

Remember this show is Free, but there will be a tip bucket for everyone to freely donate money to all the bands participating in this event.
I hope that everybody at least throws in a 5 er.
also make sure you bring plenty of money to buy from all the Vendors,
and the bands playing that night after 8 pm.

also Suzy's bar and grill has Excellent Food and Beers and wine.
sorry no hard booze. oh and sodas and water too.
so please make sure you eat there at least once if not twice during the day.

the parking lot is huge and free, please if your not in a band or in the jam
dont park next to the front of the bar, I'd liek to keep that area for loading unloading gear.

Way to go with all of the work you have done - this will be amazing! I really, really wish I could be there, but have too many work commitments during the summer months. I think this is one time, that you have to miss your own show,
Once in a Blue Moon,Linda is not at the Surf Museum,
and there is a couple times, when I don't go, as there is other stuff going on. Like Mid August I am going to the Tiki Oasis 8 festival in San Diego,
and will miss the Museum show.
but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Yeah, and the Gomez Amp T-shirts look "very cool".... I have 6 shirts myself ... 3 short sleeve and 3 long sleeve.....Black, Orange and White. Really nice to have. Dario did a very nice job with them...Really looking forward to meeting as many of you as can make it ... It will be an honor, and mean alot to me to shake some hands.........e
