I do cross my fingers that the (double)dvd will be available before Last edited: Aug 26, 2022 15:37:42 |

Rudiger has mentioned a "(double)DVD." Please don't get fixated on the idea that a 2-DVD set is forthcoming. That was one of Tom Duncan's thoughts toward the end, but the specific plans for that were all in Tom's head before he passed away last year. "Sound of The Surf" WILL GET RELEASED on DVD. I may end up pressing DVDs on my own if a disributor doesn't pick up the movie as a result of its entries in film festivals over the next two months. Regardless of the path that's taken to release the DVD, I will honor Tom's promise to send a DVD to all of those who contributed to his Indiegogo campaign. It's possible that there WILL BE some bonus material on the DVD. But, please don't expect a 2-DVD set. — |

This is so great. Thanks for all your work John, and of course thinking of Tom. Can't wait for the DVD to wing its way to the UK! |

Due to the fact that it would cost around $1500 for me to see it, I think I'll wait for my dvd. John, do you have any thoughts on time for that to happen? |

I've said all along that "Sound of The Surf" would get finished, despite all the delays. That has happened. All I can really say now is that DVDs will eventually be available. THAT is the ultimate goal. In the meantime, the film has been entered in multiple film festivals, not just Newport Beach. Nearly all of these have public screenings between now and into the spring. Upcoming screenings will be announced in this thread. Maybe there'll be one near you? —www.johnblair.us Last edited: Sep 10, 2022 14:02:30 |

Two more film festivals just announced "Sound of The Surf" as an official selection. The Topanga Film Festival happens on 4 October, and the Highland Park Independent Film Festival is on 7 October (both in the L.A. area). Refer to their respective websites or FB pages for relevent ticket and screening information in the coming days. I'll try to post that info here when I find out. —www.johnblair.us Last edited: Sep 11, 2022 13:45:09 |

As a part of the Newport Beach Film Festival this year, "Sound of the Surf" is set to screen at the New Port Theater in Corona Del Mar on October 18 at 5:30pm. There should be a panel Q&A after the screening featuring several of those involved with, and appearing in, the movie. Tix go on sale at 5pm (PST) today: https://newportbeachfilmfest.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIlJmhjJmQ-gIV8gjnCh0v8Q-2EAAYASAAEgJRufD_BwE Note: I'm told that if this screening sells out (which I expect it will), NBFF will add another screening. —www.johnblair.us Last edited: Sep 15, 2022 14:46:46 |

A word from Dan Wetherbee, the video editor who has been of pivotal help in wrapping "Sound of The Surf": A long journey is almost over.

I just replaced the movie poster that I had posted on 9/9...scroll up the page. It's been updated with winning laurels at the bottom and will likely be updated again when this movie wins more awards at upcoming film festivals. After 15 years, "Sound of The Surf" officially wrapped as of two days ago. The movie is on the festival circuit now and winning awards. DVDs and who-knows-what-else (streaming?) are ahead. Nice to see this after so long, but sad that Tom Duncan won't be here to see all of this unfold. —www.johnblair.us Last edited: Sep 15, 2022 14:45:03 |

John, thank you for all your work, and financial contributions to get this finished. I’m sure Tom is happy you took the baton and ran with it. —Jeff(bigtikidude) |
