Small world! The jag hasn't sold so keep it in mind. So do have bandmates?

I do for cover bands, but not for this. I just kind of do one instrument at a time, haha. Let me know when you play next and I'll come out.

New to this site. Was in a surf band called Swap Meet in MN in the late 1990s. Cheers!

Big welcome to our new members!

Welcome to sg101, Mitch and El Roso! Very glad you're here.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Hey everyone, first post here. I just recently got back into listening to a lot of surf rock in the last year. I used to listen to a lot of instrumental surf rock, rockabilly, psychobilly and garage rock in the 90's, mostly been playing heavy downtuned fuzzy rock for the past 15 years though. After my renaissance of reverb and a lot of lurking over the past year, a friend gave me back an Strat that I sold him year ago as a birthday present and I got inspired to venture into playing a bit for myself. I'm primarily a bassist, so my guitar skills are a bit rusty. Also, since I've got a toddler...no money for a tube driven spring reverb unit yet.

.....yet....

I look forward to bugging all of you with the same questions you've read 1000 times and pestering you to listen to home demo clips.

Welcome corey y.

Hey everybody!
My name is Jonathan, and I'm a recent surf guitar addict. I've been a huge Beach Boys fan since I was about 10 years old. But with all due respect, I wanted to get deeper into surf music. And now, Day At The Beach is one of my favorite stations on IHeart Radio.
Equipment-wise, I currently have a Marshall MGCD-10 amp. I also have a cheap strat kit that has been in mothballs for several years. But I plan on replacing the neck and repainting it to bring her back to life.
Looking forward to hanging with you all.

Hey El Roso! I used to live in Apple Valley until we moved to Omaha last spring. Small world.

Hi Folks
Joe Kinetic here in sunny Ireland. Been playing about 35 years, mostly Blues and Rock with some Trad thrown in, been surfing (badly) for about 25 years, from the early days in Ireland and always liked the music. At long last have joined a bass player and drummer and are now working up a set to start doing a few pub gigs. Doing a mix of the classics with some modern and hope to throw a few originals in.
I play a Strat through a Blues Deluxe RI and have more pedals than is healthy. I've currently downsized my board to mostly micro pedals but am debating whether to buy the Topanga, Flint or Surfybear. Thanks to all who advise and spend time reviewing gear and offering advice on this site.
I'll let you know when the band gets up and running with a name, maybe get to play with a few Irish/UK bands in the near future.
Cheers
JK

Welcome Joe, looking forward to hearing your new band! Nothing beats a good tube-driven tank, but the Surfy Bear is a fun project that will get you some great results - to my ears better than any pedal and cheaper than most. Good luck!

Welcome to the site, Joe, from the sunny UK.

As for effects, go with the surfy bear.

As for music - Get yourself to Livorno in Italy for Surfer Joe festival. Three days of surf music. Maybe see you there...

Thanks for the welcome guys. I would love a tank remora 1 but they're very rare second hand here and a new one is about the same price as a used TR, I'll get the TR first and hope that a tank turns up sometime!
