Hello from Ontario Canada!
This place is awesome!! The tone here is awesome.
The short history : took up guitar because I was all about thrash metal. Then to alternative 90's. Slapped a very "primus" style for 15 years.
Then. ... Lost most of my left thumb in a work injury. Soo after quite a few years of self pity. I finally strapped a guitar back on basically had to change everything and relearn so to speak. Open chords being all I could manage in the beginning I found myself looking to songs from the early days. Then I found an old record. Sandy Nelsons Drums a go go. Spun that record a million times as a kid. Casbah!! That was it. Absolutely loved it. I had no idea what genre that music was. I was thrown the word surf rock and..........

Hi Spaztik - welcome. You nailed it, Casbah is one of the very best songs from the original era, certainly one of my favorites at least. It really grooves like very few songs from that era. The guitarist on it, Richie Podolor, made some killer records then, some under the name Richie Allen (Quiet Surf). Best of luck getting your surf chops up, you'll find all the help you need from all the folks on this forum.

Hello, Mitch here from Kent, Ohio. I'm a mid-40's mid-western surf fan and have been a player of many genres for years around my hometown. Did this recording in my home studio this weekend and will be doing an album of originals this year. Looking forward to contributing to the forum, happy holidays.

Welcome Mitch! Real nice recording you've put together there - tight playing, solid tones. Well done! Look forward to hearing more

Thanks. Stratdancer, I actually found this forum after doing some searching on your CL post. If I had room for another guitar I'd take you up on that Squier Jag!
