Thanks guys, first jag for me too! So I guess the mint guard might be a keeper? I was surprised at how much I like the neck, it wasn't even my reason for buying this. If you come from a jag background, I think you'd get along fine with this- maybe seek one out if you're not afraid where the GAS may lead you, Bill. ;)

Nice guitar morphball!!!!! I think the mint guard looks GREAT on it. After reading the staytrem reviews on the Marr guitar I put one on my recently acquired NOS '96 Japanese Jag. I'm really happy with it too. Are you going to play your Jag at your gig on Friday???

Congrats morphball she's a beauty! I'm liking the mint pickguard too. Of course now we're all anxious to hear some sound samples...

congrats Morphball!! Jag is gorgeous. I love the mint guard with it. nice. I see you used a skate board, sans the wheels for a pedal board. How are you attaching the pedals to it. Best of luck with it! so how many guitars does that make it?

Woot! Woot! Lookin' great, Mike! Glad to hear you're bonding well -- given all the lead time and whatnot.
Nice strap you got with it - looks like some burnt orange/copper stitching. Classy! For the vote tally, I think I like mint guard a little better.
Also, hard to say, but looks like matched headstock on yours? Beach Boy Al's and the pics on Fenders site appear to be standard lacquer cover wood... but yours looks matched. Is it orange/copper?

That's gorgeous! Some people have said the high E string is too close to the edge of the fretboard - do you find that to be the case?
I like the mint and the white guards. I wonder how it would look with black or tort?

Whoa, THE EAGLE HAS LANDED! Looking good, Mike, and glad to hear you are grocking with it right from the git-go. I'll have to give you my (worthless) opinion on the pickguard when I see it in person. My first impression is that it looks great with either (and looks fantastic amongst all that blonde Gomez gear). Can't wait to hear you shredding with it soon.

Or as some have been calling it, the Jagmarr.
Or, in consideration of British pronunciation, the Jagumarr

Thanks guys! Mint it is for this Jag-u-marr.
Rich: That stay-trem is a real improvement, I gotta say (after trying a factory unit a few times); I wouldn't have even hesitated to get it if I already had a jag. Re: playing out with it- maybe! It's a little out of my comfort zone to play a brand new git-fiddle like this, but it sure is tempting!
Howard: I use the bike chain link method for my pedals; more work than velcro, but worth the effort.
Fady: The strap is made by Couch, and is recycled from the same vintage vinyl they used on Caddie hardtops. (Couch are the same company who made that limited run of MoAM? setbelt-straps.) The headstock on these are not matching, that may be a trick of the light.
DeadRanch: Tort crossed my mind, as did gold! I guess I'll keep this and see if it grows on me by the next string change. The high-E (and low-E for that matter) are fine for me, and I'm pretty picky about that. I used to have Callaham trem on a vintage-spec strat neck that I instantly though was too close to the sides and changed it to a narrower one- I did not have that reaction with this. I can get a more detailed pic with a ruler later if ya want.

Hah, thanks guys... part of me wants Fender to only do a limited run of these in this color, but it would be seriously cool to see a strat, tele or JM in "Metallic KO" too (or whatever the heck they've decided to call it). Ivan, I'm going to try to make that happen, man! I'll be heading to the Cave right after work though, so it might be tricky- I think I'd definitely do it if you played it during your set though! ;)

I thoroughly deserved that and offer no apology for myself
Absolute peach of a guitar though.
