I REALLY like the slider switch and the absence of the useless choke switch. I could do without the signature on the headstock, though. Just my opinion. —Jack Booth The Mariners (1964-68, 1996-2005) |

Unless I'm mistaken, the tremolo arm improvement is from a company called Staytrem, out of the UK. I've installed a couple of their units on some of my offsets, and they're great. Much more bang for your buck than the Easy-trem upgrade I did a review for a while back, although the Easy-trem upgrade is also a quality part and works very well. Instead of a screw-in collet like with the Easy-Trem, on the Stay-Trem there's basically just a vinyl sleeve inside the collet that the trem arm slides snugly into, and it creates enough friction that it stats where you leave it when you let go. And if over time it gets loose, you can snug it up by tightening an exterior nut around the outside/bottom of the collet. I just finished watching the 15 minute video fender did for it. Every change makes sense to me. In almost every way it seems like an improvement on the original. If they offered it in lefty and I didn't already own 3 jaguars, I would definitely consider adding it to my stable. |

Ok, now I know for sure. Just checked it out on ebay, and he's got photos of Johnny Marr in his shop. http://www.ebay.com/itm/170742103791?var=470049378817&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 |

He has a burgundy mist Jazzmaster with Jaguar electronics and tort guard, I wish they had made that his signature model. |

I'm liking the idea of that trem mod, might have to get one of those. —The Phantomatics on Facebook |

Here's a video that tells about Johnny Marr's new signature model. He talks about the trem system as well as other features. Fender Video Introducing JM Jaguar —Sean |

Looks/sounds great! That is definitely a signature I wouldn't mind on my guitar!! —Ryan Last edited: Jan 03, 2012 17:39:35 |

After watching the video I can honestly say that if I ever had 2,500 bucks to spend on a new guitar this would be the one. He's put an impressive amount of thought and effort into his mods and every one is a functional improvement. It's really refreshing to see a true rock star take something like this seriously when your typical "signature" model guitar usually involves little more than a custom finish! — |

That MSRP is just over the standard 62 AVRI. I'm guessing these will go for in the neighborhood of $1700 street. Considering all the custom features (body contours, neck profile, pickups, switching system, plates, trem system) it's looking like a bargain to me. I have been anticipating this for a couple of years. I really want one. I would love to see the faded CAR (orange) finish. |

Damn. After that video, it's now looking even more appealing... I'm impartial to the thicker neck, but the tremolo, bridge, switching and even the tele-like polarity sound like really solid updates. I'd also like to compare bodies between this and a normal jag, might make the whole thing a wee bit lighter too. — |

Its good that a use has finally been found for the Rhythm Circuit controls, though i would miss the standard switching |

Just watched the video and think he really did a good job working out the bugs. Biggest joy of the whole thing: even Johnny Marr has had the same issues with that damn rhythm circuit switch...even blamed his amp tech for the different sound! Matt "tha Kat" Lentz |

I didn't think I needed this until I watched the video. I still don't need it of course, but I do want it. It will cost me nothing to start putting money aside. —RK |

I really respect Marr for this sig model. It's probably one of the best sig models I've ever seen. He didn't rape the jag's character and made some very worthwhile mods. I remember looking at the staytrem a few months ago and now I think I'm going to have to get one. |

I think you can see a good approximation of Metallic KO in the Fender video: Although I really doubt it will have block inlays, but how awesome would that be though? — |
