Moon Over Marin by The Dead Kennedys. Replaced the voclas with guitar, but kept the killer riff.
Pollo Del Mar recorded a very excellent cover of this a few years ago.
It is one of the more melodic Dead Kennedys songs.

The Nematoads just finished writing and arranging a sleazy, jazzy (lots of horn) instrumental called Brothel Creeper. We played it live for the first time at Headhunters last weekend. Still has a few kinks, but it's coming along nicely. For this one, our bass player breaks out his upright for some nice walking bass action. Can't wait to get this one into the studio.
Our drummer can never remember the name, so he just calls it Whore Sneaker.

I'm working in 15 classic songs for my project Legendary Men from Lost Atlantis and a couple of originals. The last 2 songs I added to my set list recently were Joker's Wild which I try to play more close to the Ventures but am now doing a version much more close to the MoAM one and Surf Rider by the Lively Ones. Need more songs for one set of 5 songs with the same kind of feeling/ rhythm of Surf Rider, though.
