Beauty Ivan! Real nice! I held off temptation on the 2011 AS strat per your recommendation and will wait for the 2012 or 13 to show up somewhere. To many changes needed to the 2011. Why work to play!

So you fell off the wagon Ivan, but man...that Strat is sooo pretty!
And thanks: after seeing this, I feel a whole lot less guilty about buying that Catalinbread Semaphore pedal yesterday

I'll share that a pair of 6V6's keeps push-pulling me.
I read once that an old BF Champ can lead to a Princeton and then spirals to something with 6L6's and multiple speakers and then....
That's just one of those myths at the PTA meetings, right...? I mean, I don't recall an old movie called "Amplifier Madness."
Should be ok, right; the dopehouse is at least a 40 minute drive.

Jake,
__As for "What should be learned is people who know how to set up their guitars so they aren't destroying truss rods, having the tops bow"
Newsflash, Jake there is a bit more to use/abuse with a guitar than that.
Oh shit! There is? Fuck... I guess I'm wrong.__
Why, yes, you are.

Um, okay. One owner. Still has original footswitch. No Master Volume. 1973. All completely original except three broken or missing knobs were replaced.

You had a seriuos backslide. You know it best.
Ok, You are a Strat fan, this is okay. And the sparkle is great!!!
Grrrrrr!!!!!!! BUT this is a serious backslide!
What you can do: Write down for your own, what happened EXACTLY in your GAS section in your brain? What is the good thing that you have bought it? What is the bad thing that you have bought it?
Would you buy it again today?
Are there two other guitars who can leave for this sparkle one?
Ok, I guess we have to be more serious with this thread.
Gearoholic anonymous is not a joke for us.
Ivan, next time, at first post your thoughts here please!
Even Noel do NOT need this Super Reverb amp. But I assume that Noel is a bit joking and kidding…? But this is a bit ganger for Noel.
I discovered that I bought my last guitar in february or something this year
It was a japanese Fender Jaguar in ocean turquoise metallic with matching head! Beauty! I pimped it with the typical accessoires (Pickups, better trem, staytrem bridge) and it is good! But in fact i do not need it… and in this condition it is better than original but in fact less worth the money when it was original. …just thoughts…
I also still have in the Gas section of my brain that I need the J.Mascis Jazzmaster, the purple sparkle one… They are getting higher and higher in prices… maybe also an investment?
These my thoughts are bullshit, I know!
GAS…

I guess I had bad influence on you Hey, buying guitar is fun! Beautiful guitar! (not Rickenbacker but, hey, nobody is perfect :))

You and Ivan are both right. I do not need the Super Reverb. I already have one tremendous amp that's too heavy for me to take out, and I don't need another. I need light amps that sound this good. And you know, for as often as I play out, I don't really need them either. They're just nice to have. But I've talked myself into gear before. So I'm talking myself out of this one.
Now, if Quilter would take their Steelair 15 and add a 4X10 version... um, never mind.

+1 on the "you don't need that amp" Noel.
You're thinking right IMO.
I have a '66 and I hardly ever have the occasion to use it. My smaller amps almost always do the trick and are more practical.
Cheers,
Jeff

Ok, I'll get more serious about this thread and help you out here Ralf: you DON'T need that J Mascis Jazzmaster, trust me. I've played one and it's a nice guitar for the money, but it in my opinion it holds no added value in comparison to all the great guitars you already have in your arsenal. Just put it out of your head Ralf !
Now Noel, you seem to be facing a bigger dilemma... Even though I already own two big silverface amps myself, I would also be tempted by that Super, very tempted actually. But if deep down you know you have no use for it, just hold that thought and let the amp go. And if GAS would threaten to take the upper hand, remember what Mick said: you can't always get what you want...
