Well, in your case I think you should have one in every color!

I Love it because that's exactly what I had in mind when I typed "One Strat To Rule Them All"

It's such a happy family. You are doing a service to society by adopting these and raising them properly. One of these could have gone to the guitarist for Miley Cyrus.

I think we have a new mission statement for Gearaholics anonymous. This should recited at the beginning of every meeting.

Like Jeff, I'm trying really hard to un-enable myself as I mentioned in an earlier post.

The ones I sold were either vintage or Custom Shop. There's only one that I really miss and I know where it is. The remaining ones get played regularly.
However, we won't talk about the basses....with those, I probably could use an intervention.

It's a struggle but I try to manage the best I can.
Seriously, I've been playing in bands since 1964 and much of the stuff that I sold had been sitting around unplayed for a long time. With one exception (the '64 Jag that was my high school graduation gift from mom & dad), what remains are AVRI's and a MIM Road Worn Strat that is a surprisingly excellent guitar. I really prefer the way the modern Fender reissues play and sound as compared to the vintage stuff.

YOU sir, are to be commended & should celebrate what you've accomplished. I've no plans to even get near your 'Today' state. Really I'd like to add a Jag (know where to get one) and a Tele, which is simply a "gotta have" at some point on my list. 1 of each of the basic Fenders is good enough for me; but what I'd really like to find is one of those neat Fender Stratty-lookin' acoustical-type devices like Danny plays. Yummm.
Oh well. Back to watchin' the backslides.

Hi gearoholics anonymous,
these hours I discovered a Vintage 1960's Multivox Premier 90 Reverberation Tube Reverb Unit Tank!
I never played one!
I have heard that The Nebulas played those Premiers.
Even on their first (and mighty) album? I love this sound.
So I just want to tell you that I am thinking about getting such a Premier tank…
…to be honest I have to tell you that I own a VERY good sounding Fender Reverb, a (very good sounding) Premier clone that looks like shit. And a strymon pedal which I also use live sometimes because sometimes it sounds pretty good for my ears.

Stay strong, Ralf! In your own words, "if you could take three of them, which three would you take? And why?"... It seems you already have 3 great reverb makers

Must confess to the group that I strayed to the bad place today while ostensibly in town at a deserted Home Depot to snag a few little supplies to build my leak light.
Really I just wanted some more of a particular pick. But since stratdancer and Woody and Colt's Surf have helped so much I figured it was safe to continue trying to quantify what I want in a neck. The good part is I found it. The bad part is that it's connected to a guitar I don't need. The good part is I didn't buy it.
But at least I know what I want in a neck; I just kept looking over at the price tag and kept saying "unobtainium, don't even think it, just get yer data & git!"
Whew! Had to unload that. Now I can go in search of a neck while still maintaining things that help "insure the domestic tranquility."
Thanks.
(Oh, yeah. AV59, D-shape, 7.25" radius, vintage frets, rosewood board OF COURSE... yummy)

You held up well Wes. I spent a day and a half in a tremor filled cycle of checking emails, checking voice mail and retracing my steps on a CL post for a 2011 vintage white AS that was listed for 725.00. This is my must have color and would put a tortoise shell on it. I researched pups and wiring for it and came down to installing 57/62's all the way around. About 2 yesterday I get the fateful call he had sold it immediately after our first round of emails.
Back to square one. New vintage saddles ordered for 93 and a full round of 57/62's plus a blender circuit and treble bleed. The 93 got a new wilky trem with full steel block last spring. Although that trem still used the modern saddles at least it came with the normal centered intonation screws and the saddles are solid steel. Now it can be upgraded to vintage saddles which will add some brightness. It will remain surfer #1 until I find what I want.
Update on Seafoam. After going to 10's (always had 11/54's) it has found it's sweet spot playing rock/blues through the Marshall/Blackstar rigs. Plays like a dream and sounds fantastic in every pup position. I played it all weekend and did very little surf.
Wish me well as I try to add to my strat family in the coming days!

Too bad but sometime when we don't get what we want, we get what we need. Nice news about the results of the string change.

Good point! This at least lets me finish what I started on my 93. The Jimmie Vaughn has always been setup for surf which it can do but I sure was missing out having it set up the way it is now. It's like getting a whole new guitar!

Yes. Yes.
Thanks.
I resisted. I do definitely not need another reverb.
Would be stupid. Wouldn`t it?
