I'll see ya'll next week! Ready to get out of Augusta and hear some great live music.

If we didn't have a Gig next weekend I'd (we'd) be down there again to see this amazing lineup.
Have a great time!
I'm sure it won't be difficult.
This show is one of the best things to happen to the southern Surf/Instro scene ever.

Cheers,
Jeff

Believe me when I say wholeheartedly - we can't wait either.
It's a privilege and a joy to be a part of something so special and to be around so many great people.

Jeff

Got to hang out with Eddie Angel tonight at Trader Vic's and am unbelievably excited for tomorrow's show. On top of that, the Stomp received some great press today on Atlanta's weekly entertainment magazine's website which you can view here.

Last night was truly remarkable and thanks to everyone that made it a success.

The Penetrators set was inspiring, emotional, and sounded fantastic. Rodeo Twister were a hit and can't wait to have them back at the Southern Surf Stomp. What can I say about Eddie Angel? While playing, I was in disbelief and kept pointing and saying "That's Eddie Angel!". It was truly an honor to have him at our little show and now I just wonder where the heck we go from here?

I'd like to thank Elliott (Stix), Wade (Trace), and Richard for all their hard work not only with the Penetrators but backing Eddie as well. I have to brag on Richard especially, his efforts were paramount and the show would have been nothing without him. He organized practices, gear, set lists, etc., and even tried to hand me money at the end of the night to help with paying Eddie (which I refused or course).

Another special treat was to have 3/4 of the Squares together again and even have Jeremy join us on stage for the "Pipeline" jam. It was the first time we had played together on stage since the last Squares show around a dozen years ago.

Yesterday wasn't just about celebrating the past and old memories with dear friends but starting friendships and creating memories anew.

So awesome,Congrats brother!

Jeff(bigtikidude)

I get a huge case of envy for not living in the Atlanta area every time I read these updates! Damn you, Chad! Wink Seriously, what you've done is amazing. Worship I'm sure that even those of us that are not able to be there will be benefiting from you work. THANK YOU! Keep it up! You truly are carrying on Rip's legacy.

I'm pretty bummed I missed the Stomp. Sometimes work throws me a curveball and I can't get out of town. I'll reload and shoot for the May 9th date!

I would have LOVED to have been at this weekends show but then again - I'd love to be at all the Surf Stomps!
Chad - You are one incredible dude.
Who's next on your list of heros to perform with ?
You sure seem to be working through that list, LOL.

Cheers,
Jeff

I agree 100% completely with what Ivan and Jeff just said! Chad, you da' man!

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Thank you all so much for the kind words. It really is a joy to put on these shows and besides what better way to see your favorite artists than to bring them to you?

Jeff, you're absolutely right but I sat out on this one and let Richard take the reigns. Eddie is one of his favorite guitarists and I knew he would do a great job, which of course he absolutely did.

And yet once again you elevate your standing in my esteem as being a gentleman of the highest water.
You are a class act!

What a great night for the Southern Surf Stomp!! Big thanks to Chad for putting this monthly event on for us instrumental fans here in the south. I know for a fact that Rip and Spanky would be very proud of Chad, Richard, Jamie and all of the Bands here in the south representing surf/instrumental music.
Sticks and I would personally like to thank Richard Hawes, from The Mystery Men, for asking us to help him back Eddie up for this shindig. We have opened for many of Eddie's bands in the past, Los Straitjackets, Planet Rockers(w/ Ronnie Dawson) and The Neanderthals, but never actually played or hung out with him at length. It was everything I imagined it would be. Eddie is such a humble, cool and talented person. We were able to practice for about 3 hours in a tiny room the day of the show and it was probably the best 3 hours of my musical career (tied with jammin with Ivan and Eddie Katcher in a hotel in Chapel Hill). Just swapping stories about the past and present, old friends, and musical experiences was priceless. Not including the actual jamming with him. We worked hard so Eddie could have fun playing and not have to worry about us and I hope we accomplished that! As Rip would say, "a good time was had by all." Even his awesome wife Melanie was dancing, which is always a good sign.
Thanks again Chad and Richard, for giving us this honor and backing US up during our Penetrators set. Also thanks to Jamie Galatas, Eddie Katcher, James Freeman, Johnny McGowen and Jet Powers for playing our songs very loud and fast as humanly possible! Wink
The Southern Surf Syndicate is alive and well!!

PS. If anyone has video of the evening, please post or send it to me because it was all a blur!

Awesome interview with some great ideas for how to build on what you're already doing. I'm excited for you and inspired myself. Thanks too for the shoutout to Austin!
