We are super stoked to be playing The Southern Surf Stomp! Looking forward to making some new friends.

Hot dang!

Eddie is..............ready!

Kinda has a ring to it, eh?

Traditional........speak softly and play through a big blonde amp. Did I mention that I still like big blonde amps?

Man oh man, what an AWESOME experience! King Pelican had a super great time playing the Southern Surf Stomp with Genki Genki Panic and Drop Dead Nasty.

Thank you Chad Shivers for all you and your crew do for the Surf Scene, not just in Atlanta but all over the South and Southeast. Mystery Men were awesome and so is your hospitality. I look forward to seeing everyone associated with SSS, real soon.

I have nothing buy great things to say about King Pelican AND Genki Genki Panic... 2 bands that should get some heavy play by all of us!

10-4 Jamie.

That was one exceptional Stomp. Those "Pelican guys" were really good. All good ++.

They were great and fun guys to hang out with as well. We ought to work out a safari westward to Texas and double band, Southern Surf invade their turf sometime.

I am enjoying their CD big time!

Thanks E-man and crew and as always, many kudos to Sir Chad.

It truly was a great Stomp. I was a little worried that Drop Dead Nasty would be a bit much for our crowd and the room and was pleasantly surprised. They ended up playing about half stoner-surf instrumentals and half energetic and fun punk rock. King Pelican REALLY knocked it out of the park with their wonderful originals and a few choice covers. The Stomp was only a warm up for these guys as they're venturing out to Mexico and California later this year so I really hope some more SG101ers can catch them. I've seen Genki Genki Panic a handful of times now but they were at their best at this past show: musical, loud, and super funny.

I also have to say I thoroughly enjoyed hanging out with Ernest, Darren, and Lloyd from King Pelican. They're absolutely wonderful human beings, which I've come to expect from my fellow surf musicians as that seems to be the rule rather than the exception. We had a jam packed couple of days and these guys were troopers. Many thanks to King Pelican and we're definitely looking forward to their return.

We've got a TON of exciting things going on here at Stomp! central including our very first show in Athens, Georgia showcasing 5 fantastic locals plus The Mystery Men? and another first at the world famous Star Bar here in Atlanta with the Flying Faders from Maryland. Also, our good buddies The AmpFibians will be returning from Ohio, this time as a four piece, for our show in May.

I'm looking forward to tonight's show! I'm finally going to be able to make another one and I'm looking forward to seeing the SG101 regulars. BTW - Eddie Katcher plans to use his new Surfy Bear Reverb with The Surge! tonight. I can't wait to hear it used for a live performance.

We're beyond thrilled to have Crazy Aces return to Kavarna as they warm up for their big SG101 convention debut! Not only that, but you'll also be able to pick up a copy of their brand new ep. Joining them will be Athens surf combo The Flamethrowers and another Nashville act, The One and Only Bill Davis.

Of course don't forget about...

I kept watching this thread for a recap video of the May '16 Southern Surf Stomp. When none appeared I decided to post my own unsteady phone video of Eddie Katcher and The Surge! just so history would have a record of the first use of a Surfy Bear Reverb for a performance at the Southern Surf Stomp.

After I watched my video on YouTube it automatically launched the official SSS video, so here it is.
