I totally agree. I remember first hearing The Lonely Surfer on The Ventures "Surfing" album when it first came out. It has always been one of my favorites.

Yeah, but isn't it cool when the songs that didn't make it onto your own list sudenly appear on someone else's? For example I had to drop "Ghost Hop" by the Surfmen although I really like it. And even though it is not that widely known as some others it still made the list of somebody else (thank you narciso)!

Bombora- Original Surfaris

- Jerry Cole - "Deep Surf"
- The Original Surfaris - "Exotic"
- The Pharos - "Pintor"
- Attila & The Huns – “The Lonely Huns”
- The Trashmen - "Malaguena"
- The Blazers - "Sound of Mecca"
- The Surfmen - "Paradise Cove"
- The Astronauts - "Movin"
- The Avengers VI - "Heartbeat"
- The Fender IV - "Mar Gaya"
I have not chosen my tracks in the light of historical relevance. If everybody would do that we do not even have to make this list since the top tracks will be pretty predictable. I think the Top 101 should be a reflection of the tracks that are currently most popular amongst surf lovers, no matter their historical relevance. The above ten tracks are my current favourites in classic surf music. Today "Exotic" gives me the feeling "Misirlou" gave me years ago, even though it might not be as original or groundbreaking. Next year my list will undoubtably be very different.
I´m by far not ready for my Top 10 Revival list. That is going to take me days if not weeks.

These kind of list are very hard to make because they too often depends on the mood one has in the moment the list is being written... Now we have to make another list of those songs that deserved to be in the first list but were left out

Yes I forgot about Pintor and a few others. I'm glad some other people listed them.
To me, I felt like I had to pick a few of the classics that defined the genre. The ones that you can show people so that they will "get it."

Yes! I'm enjoying these lists immensely, seeing what other people like and hopefully people new to the genre will get some ideas on what to seek out next.
