Hey folks,
over the years a number of musicians from the 60s have shared their stories here on the forum, some even answered questions from other forum members in detail. For me these stories are one of the best things on SG101, but as the forum is basically growing by the minute, it often becomes difficult to find these stories, because you basically have to know that they are here beforehand.

So my idea was to collect the threads, in which first wave surf musicians talked in detail about their life in the 60s in a separate thread. Is started with everything I could remember from the top of my head, but I encourage anyone to add to this list. I bet there are stories in the depths of the forum, I have not read so far, and I sure would enjoy to do so.

Gasp! I had no idea. Now I'm so excited about all the reading coming up. Thanks a million for doing this!

I just noticed that I had missed a second Randy Holden interview, which is now added to the list in the first post of this thread.

thanks!

I've done a few interviews of 1st wave artists...

This is A Day at the Beach podcast #84. It features Jimmy Gallagher, drummer of The Astronauts. Unfortunately, Jimmy passed away about a month ago.

This is podcast #166... interview with Jim Messina and Ron House of Jim Messina and His Jesters. The discussion mainly deals with his high-school band and not the other bands he moved on to... Buffalo Springfield, Pogo, Loggins & Messina, etc.

I did an interview with Paul Johnson many years ago on KCR radio... I'll have to do some searching to find that one.

Thanks for the additions, Clint!

I remember listening to the Messina interview, when it was released. Who ever is interested, here is the discussion, which took place on SG101 shortly afterwards:

I haven't heard the interview with Gallagher, but will chekc it out once I find some time.
