In the 1960's, a group of Beverly Hills eighth graders helped define the Southern California surf sound. The New Dimensions are the most influential surf band you've never heard of. Their four instrumental LPs provided the backbeat to surf music. The New Dimensions were the unsung heroes of surf music, well known among musicians but almost forgotten to history. The film not only highlights music greats such as Jimmy Greenspoon, a founding member of Three Dog Night and acclaimed music producer and composer, Michael Lloyd but also brings to light the meaning of true friendship, overcoming challenges, hope and second chances. After the death of keyboardist, Jimmy Greenspoon in 2015, the remaining members of The New Dimensions are reuniting to create a new CD. The Northern California Filmmakers Coalition was invited to document this event, which will culminate in a live concert performance. With unprecedented access to the biggest names in 1960s surf music, the documentary film "FULL CIRCLE" is nearing completion.
As an independently funded project, FULL CIRCLE has been a labor of love. But we firmly believe that this film has wide commercial potential. Surf culture is stronger than ever, as you most certainly know. For most people, the music and the story of The New Dimensions is unknown.
Some of the people appearing in this film include:
The Beach Boys
Edward J. Olmos
John Stamos (actor/"Full House)
Dean Torrance (Jan& Dean)
Kathy Kohner (the original Gidget)
Bones Howe
Chuck Negron(Three Dog Night)
Bob Berryhill (of The Surfaris)
James Darren
Randy Nauert
Tommy Roe
Robert Dalley
Ron Dante
Denny Randell
Johnny Tillotson

Robert Safir
Martin Hall (under contract to Dick Clark)
Robert Dalley
Gabe Katona
Denny Tedesco (producer of the film:Wrecking Crew)

The film is slated to be released in June of 2018. Plans for distribution include both foreign and domestic markets including film festivals and television exhibition on Netflix, PBS, The Surf Channel, National Geographic Channel and more.
FULL CIRCLE is about more than nostalgia. It tells the full story of 1960s surf rock in the voices of the people who were there. We hope that you will join us and become part of this remarkable journey.

There is more to this story, continue reading ...
I'm sad to report that Jimmy Greenspoon, internationally renowned keyboard player, founding member of the New Dimensions band and iconic rockers 3 Dog Night, has passed away following a short, but intense battle with brain cancer.
Last summer, five of the six original members of The New Dimensions reunited after more than 50 years to create a new CD, celebrating the original roots of our music. Jimmy had been flying in to L.A. and Michael Lloyd's studio in Beverly Hills, CA, between touring and performances with 3 Dog, to record with the band. In addition, the band was signed to an agreement for a full length documentary, following the history of the New Dimensions from its inception to present day.
Jimmy was passionate about surfing music, even after all these years. If there is anything positive to report; it is that we were able to complete about 6 tracks of new, original material with Jimmy, prior to diagnosis of his illness. Fortunately, both Michael and Jimmy studied under the same piano teachers early on and with the extensive array of music they completed together both in the studio with Michael as producer and touring with major acts, Michael has agreed to assume the role of keyboard player in addition to his creative expertise and musicianship on bass and lead guitar. The remaing band members including yours truly on drums, Craig Nuttycombe on rhythm guitar and Danny Belsky on sax and flute will carry on to complete the new recording. Initial filming for the documentary is scheduled to commence in April. Following that, we will once again enter the studio to work on the album.
Thanks to everyone for your positive messages, personal wishes for Jimmy's well being and in his passing, your comments, thoughts and prayers for Jimmy and his family. This kind, compassionate and incredibly talented musician, composer and author will be sadly missed by us all.
My best,
Art Guy
Drummer, The New Dimensions Band
