I am pleased to announce the SurfGuitar101 2024 MP3 Compilation! Our 20th one! Just like before, this is a way for members to share music, recording tips, and to just have fun. The main emphasis is fun, so please send in an entry no matter what your skill level is. Here are the rules:
Please use the comment thread for this news story to discuss the compilation and to get information on how to submit an mp3. Please also use that thread if you'd like to find a fellow member to work with on the project. With the magic of digital recording and the Internet, remote collaborations are possible. Make your own virtual surf band!

Sovietwave surf act 'Volny Sovetov' is paying a tribute to the great Russian psychedelic punk Yegor Letov and his band 'Grazhdanskaya Oborona' covering a song 'Nas Mnogo' ('We are the Multitudes'). The footage was taken during a road trip through Kyrgyzstan, a former soviet republic. 'Nas Mnogo' is a second single from the forthcoming album 'Reverb Science', so stay tuned and enjoy the video!

The Spiratones return with a deliciously intriguing odd-couple pairing on their new double A-side single.
The surf-stained garage rocker, ‘Crooked Waeve’ crashes into view with a pulse quickening immediacy provided by snarling guitar hooks and a propulsive baseline which weave and menace as the song unfolds.
In contrast, ‘Heartbeat in Retreat’ is unapologetically tender. Its hopeful, big-hearted melody, inspired by nascent love after loss, expands exponentially to swell even the darkest of hearts.

Duke, Foo, Andy and others rush to return to the cold and darkly swell on All Hallows Eve. As the lightning crackles, the moon draws forth wicked waves from the deathly depths of the ocean. But the Dead Surfers revel and race throughout the night until daybreak... when they must return to their tombs and wait for their next unearthly stoke.
Joining their macabre clambake as the moon rises is Agent Octopus pointing there reverb soaked amps toward the ravishing sea where the dearly departed surf all night. But at daybreak all vanish. Were the agents real, or just apparitions??!!
