Barris Kustom's Star Cars DVD featuring The Nebulas

After 2 or 3 years in the making, the new George Barris' Star Cars of the 50s & 60s DVD is out now featuring an all-Nebulas soundtrack.  Hear the "King of Kustomizers" describe how he created some of the most famous kustom cars in film/television history and see footage of these cars in aktion...The Batmobile,  the Munster Koach and Grandpa's 'Drag-u-la," The Voxmobile, Paul Revere and the Raiders Coach, the 49 Merc from "Rebel Without a Cause," plus cars from Running Wild, Hot Rod Gang and High School Confidential just to name a few....all choreographed to your favorite out-of-print Nebulas songs (from Nebula One), although there are some songs from our second album on there, too.  Who would have thunk that "Supernova" would someday be featured as the soundtrack to a DVD menu??    More info on the DVD can be found here: www.barris.com

GET THREE COFFINS READY!

HEY CHECK OUT GET THREE COFFINS READY! "The Members Of "Get Three Coffins Ready" Cull From Years Of Stage Experience As Well As Countless Hours Of Devouring All Things Pop Culture To Create A Sound That's As Innovative And Original, Yet Eerily Familiar All At The Same Time. The Band Uses Elements Of Surf, Country, Garage Rock, And Rockabilly All Filtered Through A Sparce And Direct Punk Rock Approach That Leaves No Room For Bullsh*t. The Songs Range From Dust-Covered Spaghetti Western Scorchers, To Dreamy Reverb Surf Meditations, Gritty Garage Pop To 60's Style Motorcycle Rock. And All The While Keep It Quick And Calculated. This Cannon Is Aimed At The Dance Floor, So No Vocal Disruptions Or Wanking Allowed. Their Love Of Movies, Television, And Comic Books Is As Much A Part Of The Band As Their Extensive Musical Knowledge, And Their Music Sometimes Feels Like The Sonic Equivalent Of A Dusty 8mm Film Playing On A Yellowed Screen. But Without Warning They Can Whip It Back To A Rock & Roll Revival Camp Complete With Sweat And Beer. As A Band It's All About Excitement. To Witness Their Live Show Is To Understand, Here Is A Band That Loves Rock & Roll As A Culture, Not As Some Specific Genre. Don't Miss Them In Your Town." - Adam Hester-2005

The Surfites - Big Pounder CD With Pre-Release Bonus Track

We are excited to announce the upcoming release of the debut full-length CD by The Surfites, called Big Pounder. The disc is packed solid with great, original surf instrumentals.

The Surfites (www.thesurfites.com) are a gang of landlocked gremmies playing instrumental surf music in the old school style. Formed in 2003 by the two Fjellgren brothers of now defunct Swedish surf band the Daytonas. The Surfites are mainly a studio group with buddies Folke Bergkvist (bass), Henry Karlsson (piano/organ) and Gunnar Lindholm (drums) dropping by for the recording sessions. Klas and Jack Fjellgren play all the guitar parts and write the songs, as well as arranging and producing the recordings. The guys have just completed recording material for a debut album in their basement studio and the finished CD will be released on Double Crown Records on March 27th 2007. One of their songs, "Surfville", will appear on the upcoming Sazanami Records compilation Wild Sazanami Beat #4. Also, be sure to check out the Surfites on MySpace (www.myspace.com/thesurfites). Cowabunga!

The Surfites - Big Pounder CD is now available for order with credit card and Paypal. If you order before the release date of March 27th you will receive a free bonus track called "Drag-U-La Beat" immediately. The CD will then be shipped to you on it's release date. If you are a subscriber to the Double Crown Music Club (http://www.dblcrown.com/dcmc.html) you can also get this free bonus track - just drop us a line for details (records@dblcrown.com).

Madeira Update (Indy Show 1/26)

Hello all;

The Madeira will be returning to the Melody Inn in Indianapolis on Friday, January 26th. We will be playing with three non-surf, hard-rocking bands: The Vacancy (Pittsburgh), Razorblade Skyline & Imperial Battlesnake (Chicago). This will be a great opportunity to expose some new people to the amazing, powerful sound of a full-on surf band pounding out that reverb!

Nothing scheduled for February at the moment, but looks like March and April will see us playing a bit more. More details once they're confirmed.

In other news: we have been hard at work on new material for a second full-length CD, which we hope to record in the late summer and release early in '08. Also, our Myspace site has been updated with two new tracks from the debut album 'SANDSTORM' as well as performance videos of the songs "Ricochet" and a new original, "Surf Fidelis." Go check 'em out!

The Fin-Dicators are Fin-alists for the NY Dolls

Hello to Surfguitar 101-ians, I had no idea that Little Steven liked surf!!!! We have a chance to open for The NY Dolls if enough people vote for us.

At this link scroll down to select Atlantic City and vote for The Fin-Dicators, please!

There was a battle of the (garage) bands and I submitted our original surf rock song "Tangled Leash" and a picture of the band. Little Steven made all the choices and chose us as one of three for the Atlantic City, NJ gig. I need as many different logons as possible to vote for us. This is reaaaallllly big for surf rock exposure. Also vote for the Creepy Creeps in San Diego, I did. The voting will continue till November 2.

The gig date to open for The NY Dolls in November at Atlantic City is:
Friday, Nov 24th
Venue: Borgata
Location: Atlantic City, NJ
With: w/Supersuckers, Chesterfield Kings and more

That’s the Friday after Thanksgiving.
