Oh what's this, mister postman?!

Pretty cool on first listen. A little more dark and cyberpunkish, and a little slower too. Both sides are 33RPM, 3 tracks total.

Got the latest installment of the Man or Astro-Man? Analog Series on vinyl in the mail yesterday. Its freaking sweet! More like space-rock than space-surf, and more vocals (both human and robot!). But it rocks! And it's pretty heavy. Starcrunch has definitely gotten crunchier with age. Headbang

Order the vinyl from Chuklet here

edit: It's also available in iTunes sotre now too for $2.97.

Klas's first "heads up" post and the series of exchanges following it (here) was an attention getter. Then Ivan's follow up (below) convinced me to wait no more. Rec'd this in yesterday afternoon's mail.

Holy Cow! This is sensational. All I can say is that I hope the "part one 1960-1961" across the top of the cover means there is at least a part two in the plans, if not more. There's a wealth of stuff entirely new to me here, and it is just fantastic.

Thank you Klas for bringing this to our attention!! Thumbs Up

A heads-up for anyone here into British early 60's instro groups besides just the Shadows. At first glance I thought I already had too much on it but when studying the tracklist a bit closer, it turned out that I only had about half of the tracks previously. Lots of great stuff on it for any euro-instro fans.

Klas, you called it - it's just phenomenal! I've been listening to it over the past week or so, but it's really hitting me in the right way at the moment. Absolutely amazing. Creativity off the charts! I also LOVE the four Ted Taylor Four tracks, of which I only had two before. What a wacked-out band!! Just brilliant! So great to have this comp, I cannot recommend it highly enough to all SG101ers!

I just ordered that too, but santa's making me wait for that one along with my surf nuggets. Neutral

I must have been a good boy this year cause all sorts of awesome stuff has been showing up at my door - and I don't even have to wait another four weeks to open it all! So, recently (the past month) I've gotten the following:

The Haunted Pad - amazing!!
Surf Age Nuggets - amazing!!
The Atomic Blast - Hypnosis - amazing!!
It Came From the Beach: Surf, Drag & Rockin' Instros from Downey - haven't had the time to listen to this much yet

And then today I got a nice package from Double Crown:

Bevel Emboss: Celluloid - been listening to this on Spotify for the past month or so, and now at home - also AMAZING!!
The Road Runners: Rampage
The Surfaders: Dragstrip Murder Mystery
The Man From Ravcon: The Traveler

(The last three I haven't heard yet.) LOT of great stuff!! It's a real cornucopia of surf music!! I gotta say that the Atomic Blast and Bevel Emboss have set the bar really high for the best modern surf releases of the year. Simply incredible stuff. Mike, really looking forward to checking out The Traveler, too!

It's been a damn good year for surf music.
