So you don't buy albums that you can't find as free downloads? Then you're missing out on a lot of cool releases.

T H E ✠ S U R F I T E S

shouldnt we make a new thread or continue an old one, if we want to discuss downloading? this is (was?) a long running thread with loads of great info, let's keep it eleki and discuss downloading somewhere else, e.g.:

http://surfguitar101.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=5891&highlight=downloading

(some good points made allready, i.a. by Zak.)

that's awesome Zak Laughing

What's also funny is that about 15 minutes ago I was going through that old thread, and came across the below quote from you, and I thought, 'WTF? Zak doesnt want the laws of supply and demand to apply to him? move to Cuba allready.' Very Happy Wink

Zak, long ago when he was still a communist bastard,
I've said it before and I'll say it again, "musician" seems to be the only profession where the people paying you seem to think the price is somehow negotiable.

60's eleki reissues are totally dependent on CD sales.

Us round-eyes are always in need of a good ligtening up.

That was excessively violent and completely unnecessary. I loved it.

Laughing haha that shit is funny man.

And now that some of the participants in this thread who are new to eleki have actually heard some, maybe at least some of them will buy those CDs, which is better than none.

Are you joking? No one here will buy those CDs from Japan because of your comfortable and free download links. And how did you think people would know where to buy the CDs when you didn't provide any buying information in your posts?

If you wanted to recommend an eleki album to the forum members, you could just have linked to online store sound samples (which should be enough for anyone to base a purchase on) instead of posting links to full album downloads. Then there would at least have been a chance some people buying the CD since there wouldn't be any alternatives.

All this has made me wonder if you have ever bought any eleki albums yourself or does your "collection" solely consists of free mp3s that you're listening to on your little mp3 player?

For what it is worth I am going to order some stuff. I have the collector mentality and like to have real hard copies of everything. So in my case he is right.

I do understand your point and respect it, but the horse has now been beaten to death and I don't think either of you are going to change the others mind.

Oh, and my buddy that is into instro stuff as much as myself is ordering stuff also.

Great! I'm glad I could provide you with the purchase info and sound samples.

I think Zak has learned his lesson now.

I have not muddled through all of the available Yuzo stuff...are any of the CD's just instro?

I really dig the instro stuff on the on I perused on the web but some of the singing stuff is a bit sappy. I find it amazing he could go from Black Sand Beach and the LA thing to some of the other stuff that is very Fabian or Elvis.

www.kingvoodoo.blogspot.com

The Black Sand Beach comp is all instro with the tracks lifted from his mid 60's albums together with the 1994 re-recording of Black Sand Beach.

Click on the cover and scroll down a bit for sound samples.

Yeah, today I learned that apparently - according to you - I have an mp3 player.
Laughing
I seem to have misplaced it, though...and I have no recollection of ever having bought it.

Bought it? I thought you had simply downloaded it for free! Razz

I think Klas and Zak need to start an Eleki band so I can download their music.
