I'm thinking about displaying a list of flag icons that our members have picked at the very bottom of the main forums index, where all the statistics are about new members, most members on, etc.

Done!

That looks great. Love the list of newest members. Welcome everyone! Interesting that there are (currently) so many unregistered users online. Nice job, Brian!

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

my new country is Antarctica and I am happy Yes

Nice!

Thank you for this post! As I sat here reading this thread a profound powerful secret of the universe was revealed to me in these pages...and I'll be damned if I'm sharing it with a single one of you crazy bastards!

Brian,

I am late to comment. Should have done so long ago. I like the idea of seeing flags to indicate how global our membership is.

As for me, I am fine with the US flag by my name. I had ancestors who signed the Declaration and fought in the Revolution. I had ancesstors that fought in the Civil War. One of them died at Andersonville. My father survived 3 beach front invasions in the south Pacific during WWII. I would be honored to have the US flag by my name.

Talk to you later,
Norm

But I would be more than happy and proud to have a USA flag next to my name. And I wouldn't call myself a huge patriot.

For those who wouldn't Canada is calling you.

It's actually not that easy to move to Canada if you're not a Citizen. Plus it's freakin' cold there Smile

I see this as purely geographic and am happy to put the US flag by my name because that's where I live. Doesn't imply anything else. And, politics aside, I DO like it here.

Be at one with the universe. If you can't do that, at least be at one with your guitar.

I never thought that putting a flag to indicate where you live would be such a political issue. Seemed like a nice idea to me.

Well Jeff, I guess you have the answer to your question.
