You are the guys who are making it political. Of course we love living in the USA. We're just having fun. SG101 is about fun. People give me options, I explore them. People want to put labels on me, I'm going to question those labels.

Fight comformity with comformity!

I stated that it was just nice. It's not political at all, just nice. If you don't want to label yourself, then don't.

Don't we all have fun with each other, here and in real life, without making fun of each other? For example, don't Strat, Jag and JM owners sometimes have at each other, all in good fun? And guitars are serious business here.

IMO, the flag graphic is a great idea, and also something we can have some fun with without any political implications, or disparaging nationalities?

I'm not reading any political implications into anyone's flag choice.

This is Noel. Reverb's at maximum an' I'm givin' 'er all she's got.

Hmmmmmmmmmm?
I thought the Avatar and choice of what you want in your signature area is for fun. Where you live, is where you live. Period.
But then, there are always those who chose to not play by the rules.

I concur and well-said, Noel.

As long as nobody has to put a star of David under his or her name I don’t consider it political.

I also agree with Btd! Hey, that rhymes! Maybe I should do rap instead of surf music.

I think I misinterpreted this at first. I think I now know how it was intended.

Brian, are you starting to get the feeling you unwittingly stepped into a land mine?

Jake is from an interesting place too!

Yeah, I just ran into this while browsing flags and I had to have this flag.

It's all good. If you wanna use it, fine. If you wanna have fun with it fine.

"It starts... when it begins" -- Ralf Kilauea

Shall I bite?

Seriously, this site is remarkable in keeping politics/religion etc. out of the discussion. Even when those topics are lightly brushed, it's always civil and mannered with good nature/intentions. Surf music should bring us together, I believe that was Brian's idea.
I wouldn't want to see it spoiled.

I think that the flags as Brian implemented them are a great idea. You can choose to display your national flag or not, and in any case you can enter your country of residence in the "location" field on the profile page if you don't want a flag or if you prefer a different one (Sri Lanka looks awesome!). Frankly I see nothing to complain about.

I wish more people would enter their location on the member map.

Old punks never die... They just become surf rockers.

Nice touch, Brian. Perhaps this will lead to a future Surf Guitar Olympics.

Hmmm... I can't find the freak flag.

I will proudly display the American Flag. I know Baja Marty sure would.

If Marty were on SG101 he would want to put an American flag this big next to his avatar.
