These are the songs that, once I got past the obvious standards, really displayed the depths of possibility within the genre:
Cruel Sea - Ventures Live in Japan version
Sunset Beach - I'm partial to the Surf Piranhas, 2nd wave version
Quiet Surf- Richie Allen
Camel Walk - The Saxons
The Breeze and I - The Vibrants
Dreams - The Surf Coasters
Surf Party - The Astronauts, but it was when I saw The Penetrators do it live that it really grabbed me

Urban Surf Kings "Radarmen From the Moon" amazing guitar solo in that one.

These are mine that I like to listen to when I need a short stab of surf music.
Flash of Green - Pollo del Mar
Burning Mirage - The Madeira
Check Point Echo - The Penetrators
Deception Bay - The Penetrators
Bombora - The Atlantics
Wedding Cake Island
In case anyone noticed I was gone, I've been away awhile going down a different musical path (Blues & Roots)
I'm starting another band and hope to include a few instro's into the set lists, so of course I wandered back down here to SG101.

I've had Slacktone's Tidal Wave stuck in my head all week, so I guess that's my favorite right now. The Barbwire's La Caja Del Muerto is definitely up there in the awesome dept. My "favorite" tends to change wildly, though I'd say consistently it is something by The Madeira, Space Cossacks or Surf Coasters, if I'm not in a trad mood.
