It's been bouncing between "Taco Wagon" by Dick Dale and "Exotic" by The Sentinels.

¡Enjoy the ride!

For some reason Penetration seems to stick in my mind. It just seems like the perfect example of first wave Surf to me. (This opinion subject to frequent revision.)

I hear you. Feels like the Surf Version of what "Highway Star" by Deep Purple was for heavy rock, leading in to heavy metal. So many of the "signature" moves/riffs/tricks, all in one place. Not necessarily my favorite, but so important to me as an evolved prototypical surf song.

After much thought, my favourite is "Intoxica" by the Revels.

The Original Surfaris - Bombora. If Darth Vader were a guitar tone it would be that. I've never heard a cover that comes close

Too many fav's to pick from, but my top four in no particular order...

The Tormentos - Dragstrip Night
The Tormentos - Il Diavolo In Corpo
LOS KAHUNAS - 6G15
The Surf Coasters - Dreams

"Gymnopedie No. 1 "- The Pyronauts w/Ferenc Dobronyi on the SG 101 2009 Mp3 comp. Absolutely awesome, i live in Caen near Honfleur (the city Erik Satie, the writer of the tune, lived) in France.... this rendition is so cool...it was originally written in 3/4 and the Pyronauts manage to make it work in 4/4 and Surfstyle....really cool.

"Bells". Slacktone

Killer Dana, Pier Pressure, and Diamondback get me hot and bothered too.

Be careful following the masses. Sometimes the "M" is silent...........................

ermmm, umm, not to be too off-topic here, but hey, mr danny snyder , what the hell does -
'don't make me flip the bozo bit' mean ?
i'm totally serious, i've been blandly and naively wondering for the past year.
does it refer to you flipping out so much that you look like bozo?
please advise !!

Off Topic Flipping the bozo bit is when you decide that someone is a bozo. You've mentally tagged them as a bozo due to something they said or did. Its commonly used by computer nerds in open source projects.

Here is an interesting video in which the phrase is discussed: How Open Source Projects Survive Poisonous People

The video is aimed at open source software developers/communities, but surprisingly a lot of it also applies to online communities like this one. Smile

The Concussions - We Should Be Dancing
The Space Cossacks - Departure
The Huntington Cads - Blue Sounds or Lovely Nobuko

Thanks, Nicholaus! You know, I would never have suspected that Departure could even be someone's favorite Cossacks song, never mind being among their favorite surf songs EVER! It's funny how people latch on to different songs....
