I watched all the Crazy Aces videos on YouTube yesterday. Good stuff. You guys are just up the road from me (I'm in Chattanooga). I'll have to get up I-24 one evening and see a show!

The surf music scene here in town is...well, there isn't one.

You should also head down to Atlanta for some of the shows we have down here as well. You're well placed!

Just an off-the-top-of-my-head response...this list is only a start.

Seek out The Fathoms. Universally loved and considered to be among the best.

The Space Cossacks, then from there start making your way through The Madeira.

Another universal favorite is The Bambi Molesters.

One of my personal favorites is The Infrareds. Not sure how available the discs are now, but look around.

Los Twang Marvels...everything, but especially 'Jungle of Twang'. This is as mandatory as mandatory gets for surf/instro in most people's opinion.

The TomorrowMen, especially 'It's About Time'.

The Penetrators - whatever you can find.

Richard, THANKS! That's an amazing list. A lot of out of print stuff on there but I'll do some digging (which is half the fun). I managed to snag a couple by The Bambi Molesters today, and I already have a couple by the Bomboras (excellent choice).

I just spent some quality time in the art studio listening to the two Bambi Molesters cd's I've gotten: 'as the dark wave swells' and 'sonic bullets'.
I am just blown away. Can't believe I've been missing out on them. Not any more! Thanks guys for the recommendations.

Hey guys, new to this website and the suggestions listed here really help a "newby" forward, already heard some great bands!
was into surf music a bit after I have seen Jon & the Nightriders in Holland somewhere early in the 80's but moved on playing other stuff
After visiting a gig from a local band here, "stories from Shamehill" (check them out here: http://www.storiesfromshamehill.nl ) the reverb itch pulled at me again, so came to this website
And what a great place to start, I was able to find a lot of the bands listed above on spotify by the way, will pick up some hard copies of the ones I really like on the North Sea Festival in Amsterdam next month
