I think the Astronauts are a good example of what
traditional surf music could do in the bass-register.
Especially on Surfin with The Astronauts and Rarities
the bass is clear enough to get more attention and it
deserves getting it. They went many unique routes for
drums, bass and arrangements. Having a free approach
inside of the surfmusic format. Its like, stick more
to these rules, you gain freedom at the other end.
They used these principles as radical as few of the
other big acts of the first wave.
