Re: Astronauts

Dana and Roberta Vincent (dana_l_vincent) - 05 Apr 2002 17:32:37

Brian, the Astronauts generally used one guitar for lead lines, one for
chords, and one for the drippy bottom-two-string notes and occasional power
chords. Truly a unique and great sound!
Best regards, Dana Vincent

Ivan & Jeff:
Thanks for the Astronauts suggestions. I see that Cdnow is taking advance
orders for several Astronauts CD's; they must be imports as they are $30 a
pop. You don't see too many 3 guitar bands. I am interested in hearing how 3
guitars are used together in a song.

Being from Colorado and old enough to have seen the Astronauts "live"
several times I am a huge fan of theirs. A local radio station had a
contest that whatever high school sent in the most "we want the
Astronauts for our school dance" entries would win them for a night.
My school bombarded them with entries and won. Photos and album
covers, etc. that I have show Fifield (lead) always with a
Jazzmaster. Rhythms (Demmon and Lindsey) are seen with either two
Jaguars or a Jag and a Jazzmaster. Great photo of their gear is on
the cover of "Everything Is A-OK" album. Hope my trivia helps.
