Yes DP,
"Legends of Surf Guitar" is a must have among comps. I also give "Surf Legends
and Rumors" holy grail status although more for the obscurity and great sound
quality. Most of the tracks are not essential surf tracks for a newcomer.

I totally agree...The Blue Hawaiians "Live at the Lava
Lounge" and "Christmas on Big Island" ...totally surf!
and Slacktone's "Warning: Reverb Instrumentals"
and the Blue Stingrays: "Surf-N-Burn"
and of course the Rhino Records: "Cowabunga!:the Surf Box"
and the Holy Grail of All Compilations: "Guitar Player
presents Legends of Guitar: Surf"
