RE: [SurfGuitar101] Strings?

Brian Neal (xarxas) - 27 Jan 2002 18:10:07

Hi,
I have put flatwound D'Addrio Chromes 0.012" on my MIA Jag. I haven't tried
too many other strings, but these last a long time (especially compared to
roundwounds, it seems) and they are not expensive like other flats. The big
strings take a bit to get used to, and the G is wound, but the sound is very
big and twangy. I love the combination of Jag/flatwounds/reverb unit/tube
amp.
I had to tweak my truss rod after putting these on, but didn't have to mess
with the nut.
I still keep roundwounds on my strat.
Thats cool about seeing the Astronauts! 3 guitar lineup?
