The Ventures likewise, didn't write "Walk Don't Run", only adapted it! So,
y'all think it'd be cool to play "Walk Don't Run" at an event where you knew The
Ventures would be playing after your band?

Johnny Barakat played The Wedge when he opened for DD back in the
early 60s and he totally shredded, and I'm sure Dick was totally
pissed (and Barakat was 16 or 17 at the time). Although some people
think that Ivan went over the top, I agree with him. Dick is a parody
of himself. As far as I'm concerned, he hasn't done anything since
around 64-5. Like a lot of people have said, Carl Perkins opened the
door and got trampled over after his car accident. Dick may have
opened the door, but he hasn't done anything of real substance for 40
years.
