King of Surf Guitar the Returns to Sea
Eastport, Maine – Rossport Farms is pleased to announce Legendary Guitarist, Dick Dale King of the Surf Guitar will be headlining this years festivities Saturday, August 9, 2014. Rossport Farms Guitars by the Sea is the 27th annual summertime destination outdoor music event with a distinctive flair for the adventurous. Rossport Farms a 64 acre salt water farm nestled on the coast between Cobscook Bay and Passamaquoddy Bay in the determined community Eastport, Maine. Known as the eastern most city in the United States, and the first to see the sun!
Executive producer and veteran entrepreneur, Ross Furman, the event host and organizer, “This year our goal is to inspire listeners, to hear and see the world with a fresh perspective. Our largest line-up yet, 12 hours of music from 12 bands from across New England and to top it off we will get to experience the music of Dick Dale in one of the most beautiful spots on earth. “
This American guitar master has been creating world changing sounds on a his Fender Stratocaster for over 55 years. “He pioneer the style of surf music, drawing on the eastern musical scales and experimenting with reverb.” Dale is often credited as one of the first electric guitarist to employ fast scales in his playing. Guitar Magazine called him “Father of Heavy Metal” because he broke through the electronic barrier limits of the era.
